Atholl Palace Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is a beautiful older hotel. Our room was in a tower and quite lovely with a comfortable bed, little sitting area with a couch and chairs and 2 bathrooms . We were delighted to have access to the laundry facility and the short golf course on the grounds. We also enjoyed the hiking areas on the grounds. We were able to walk to town and to and from the train station. We just had duffel bags so the steep driveway and stairs were manageable but wouldn't be if you a lot of bags. The buffet breakfasts were great, just remember if you want toast, to order toast from your server when you are seated. We also ate dinner there one night and it was also excellent. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable, bathrooms clean and well designed. The snacks in the room and tea kettle were a great perk. I would definitely stay here again."

"A beautiful historic group of buildings in highland architectural syle externally that has been thoughtfully and completely moderised internally. Great suite type rooms and very nicely decorated and furnished communal spaces. Good restaurant, dinner menu a little restricted but very well executed. Breakfast is an excellent spread of continental and Scottish fare done buffet style with specialty egg dishes made to order. Interesting, but very expensive, wine list. Slick service delivered by all staff who are friendly and helpful and an interesting international mix. Local village is lovely and very quiet. Surrounding scenery jaw droppingly lovely. Well worth the (beautiful) drive to get to Dunalastair."

"For the facilities provided and food offered the cost was really excessive. The charge for accommodation and food were both in the region of 30% more than I have paid for similar grade hotels in other popular areas for tourists and holidaymakers"

"Wonderful little cabin! Very clean and cozy. It was so cute inside with the highland cow items and duck curtains. Area was quiet and the beds were comfy for some good restful sleep mid trip. Would 100% recommend. The only thing that wasn’t the best was after the second person showered they ran out of out water. So the water is very hot but doesn’t last very long. Also one of the last guests left bag of dog poop under the front stairs, we tossed it in the garbage but please clean up properly after you pets in such a beautiful place!"
