"We only stayed here one night on our way to Moorea. Owner, Vehiarii, has very nice and spoke perfect English. He even dropped us off downtown for dinner and live entertainment and picked us back up a few hours later. Beds felt new and comfortable. Linens are fresh. Coffee was awesome. "We stayed at the Mai Tai at the end of our cruise so could compare directly with the Kon Tiki. Both have pros and cons. Mai Tai has convenient parking (if confusing to fine at first!). The room was not as nice as the Kon Tiki but the Mai Tai hotel location is great being in the centre of town and close to everything."

"We stayed at the Kon Tiki just prior to a Paul Gaugin cruise. The hotel itself is fun with an excellent rooftop bar and one of the best restaurants in town. The breakfast room has a great vibe. It's at one end of a main road and getting around and away from the hotel to explore is awkward/sketchy but ultimately fine. The upper floor rooms with a balcony have a great view of Moorea (sunsets)."

"Great little spot where you have privacy and share common areas like kitchen, bathrooms, showers. The host was helpful and friendly. The pool was great. Peaceful place. We stayed one afternoon-evening before catching our red eye flight back to Hawaii. It was a nice spot to take a nap, enjoy the pool, and freshen up. Would like to go back and check out the tree house! Maybe next time :)"
