"This was a very unique and bespoke property. We appreciated the earthen home and all of the thoughtful touches. We enjoyed the getaway for our family and greatly appreciated that our dog was welcome! Thomas was a gracious and welcoming host that respects the privacy of guests and is a pleasure to talk with. The fire pit was removed due to the extreme drought and winds present. We enjoyed using the wood stove inside! This is a lovely, eccentric property in which you can have a unique experience and enjoy tranquility, dark skies and solitude!"

"A very unique property, specifically tailored to those visiting the sand dunes. Nothing fancy about this place, but the bed was comfortable and the shower hot. Only dinner option at the motel was a frozen Papa Murphy's pizza that we were able to bake in a pizza oven in the motel office. Definitely not worth the money. I would recommend eating before you arrive. The grab and go breakfast items were great, intended to eat in your room or in your car. The view of the dunes was nice. I could see if the weather had cooperated there would have been a nice sunset/sunrise. Overall, if the dunes are your destination, this motel is a great option."

"What a fabulous stay our small group of five just had! The peace and quiet, the rustic (and spotlessly clean) charm of this quirky home, all the facilities, and the location, met all our needs. This really was a break for us, and a comfortable escape. We definitely want to return. We left with regret, but with a great deal of gratitude."

"Beautiful home with incredible mountain views. Star gazing from the hot tub was our favorite! Make sure you bring food as there’s only one small true grocery store in town and supplies/hours are limited. Loved it and would absolutely come back!! "
