House itself is fine, even though there are some issues it has more positive than negative. Here are some cons that we found disappointing: cleaning service is mediocre at best, dust bunnies, dirt ect. Some equipment like outdoor grill and hot tub is pretty old and tired. No fence around backyard. But our biggest problem was with the host: poor communication (we didn’t have the move in instructions 12 hours before check in, I had to call the host directly to get the code to get into the house. ) Poor service: on the last day of our stay there was a snow storm and we have lost all electrical power and heat around 11pm. I was finally able to reach the host in the morning of our departure and asked for assistance with snow removal since the driveway was covered with 2.5 feet of it. Host’s response was: THERE SHOULD BE A SHOVEL IN THE GARAGE! I have a problem with that, not only that I have a back issue and should not be shoveling snow but also I didn’t rent a high end property to shovel snow, in my opinion house like that should have a snow removal service set up! In addition I have contacted the host again and explained that without electricity I have no way of doing a proper clean up (house get pretty dark without power even during the day), can’t run a dishwasher or even open a garage door and I would have to leave the house as is. So instead of offering some sort of recompense for inconvenience of spending our last night in the cold and dark house and the lack of snow removal the host decided to charge me a security deposit for not cleaning up and having unreported dog that according to the host left some damage, In fact dog was reported and approved by the host at the time of booking and we have screen shots of text messages to prove it. We have traveled with this dog for years to multiple properties and never had any issues with any other hosts. Overall very disappointing experience
