"This is an awesome place. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the grounds well-kept and inviting. The location is quiet with terrific night-sky views. There’s a pool if you’d like to take a day off from seeing the Atacama. It’s gated and has parking. All-in-all, highly recommended. A few things to consider — you need a car to stay here. It’s in Coyo, which is a few miles outside of San Pedro de Atacama proper and there’s no public transport. Also, almost no English is spoken at the property. Not an issue for us and for most you should be able to navigate and make your needs known with a few words of Spanish and 21st Century technology. "

"The room was clean and well appointed. The staff were extremely patient with my limited Spanish and helped in any way they could. The free transfer into & out of the town centre was a bonus as the lodge is approximately 25 minutes walk in to town."

"Lodge Quelana is a true oasis in the desert. It’s a lovely, peaceful, well-maintained, small boutique hotel with private cottages. The beautiful rustic-modern architecture and interior design is perfectly suited for its setting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mariajose, the receptionist for the majority of my stay, went above and beyond the call of duty to help with organizing tours, dinners, and taxis; the personalized service was greatly appreciated. As the hotel is located out of the town center, it is helpful to have a car, since there were occasional delays in getting a taxi. Overall, I highly recommend Lodge Quelana. "
