The echo lodge has pleasant and very helpful staff but the actual decking surrounding it is very rickety and untidy. There is an old boat in corner (like a shipwreck). They have a lot of dogs ( which was ok for us). The actual beach opposite is definitely not one to lie on. It has litter everywhere and so has the sea. The actual rooms are nice but small.

Felt like family.

This brand new Eco hotel seems to be unique in Phu Quoc. Set in a beautiful, quiet area away from the noisy capital and tacky resorts we were made to feel extremely welcome by Phong and his team. They could not do enough for us, from giving us advice on what to do on the island to inviting us to traditional Vietnamese dinners with the staff. We felt really relaxed there, the rooms are beautiful, the food excellent and it all comes at a fraction of the price of the larger hotels. Should we return to Phu Quoc, there is only one place we would consider staying.
