About this property
Japanese-Inspired Camelback Mountain Retreat
Summary:
Nestled against the iconic Camel's Head on Camelback Mountain, this Japanese-inspired retreat offers breathtaking desert and city views from every vantage point. The outdoor space centers around a heated pool with a one-of-a-kind dragon sculpture and mist feature, an elevated hot tub overlooking downtown Phoenix, a Viking outdoor kitchen, and fire pit seating beneath the red rocks. Perfect for big groups seeking both peaceful sanctuary and prime Scottsdale access—Old Town is just 4 miles away.
The Space:
Step outside to a backyard designed for serenity and entertainment. The heated pool* features a decorative dragon sculpture with integrated misting system—a showstopper guests love. The elevated hot tub offers unobstructed views of Camelback's red rock formations and downtown Phoenix skyline, stunning at sunset. Gather around the built-in outdoor kitchen with Viking gas grill, sink, and stone countertops, or relax at the fire pit as the mountain glows at dusk.
Inside, mid-century modern design meets Japanese-inspired tranquility. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors frame mountain views from nearly every room, flooding the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen with natural light. The kitchen features sage green cabinetry, granite countertops, dual coffee makers (drip and Keurig), and a wet bar with wine storage. Island seating for three and a breakfast nook make group meals effortless.
Sleeps 16 across five bedrooms: primary suite with king bed, tray ceiling, and deck access; three queen bedrooms; and a bunk room with four full-size beds (sleeps 8). Arcade game machine, professionally laundered linens, and thoughtfully designed spaces make this ideal for reunions, golf groups, or family escapes.
Just 4 miles from Old Town Scottsdale's dining and shopping at Fashion Square, 7 miles from Sky Harbor, minutes from Camelback trailheads. Whether hiking at sunrise, soaking under the stars, or gathering for the Phoenix Open (18 miles), this peaceful refuge delivers.

Hi
The home and location are lovely. Several items need some work though to meet expectations:
- kitchen floor was not cleaned.
- outdoor stair lights do not work
- outdoor grill does not work
- outdoor sink does not work
- one outdoor grill light did not work
- insta hot in kitchen did not work
- upper oven did not work
- pool needs a good cleaning
- full bath shower upstairs shower head attachment sprays at the ceiling and drips on the shower taker
Thanks,
House was clean and comfortable I did not give this 5 stars for 3 reasons:Landscapers came at 6am and were leaf blowing did not think that time of day allowed work to be done. This is unacceptable as it’s obvious when you are renting a VRBO your on vacation!! Also no handrails or ladders at all to get in and out of the pool very dangerous and tiles falling off.Last thing we could hear some type of animal running around above us.
Celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday with a group of 8. It’s an amazing location with access to Biltmore and Old Town. Hot tub wasn’t working at check in. Got someone on the phone and they had a tech out to fix it in the morning. Note that when they say check-in at 5 pm, they mean it. Lock even has a timer on it.
Absolutely lovely home in the BEST location. Plenty of room to spread out. Super comfortable and clean. Well equipped kitchen. Could not have asked for anything more (except better weather!). Very clear instructions and management team was easy to work with. Highly recommend.
The size of the home for our party of 10 was perfect. The location was also good and the views were wonderful. However, the kitchen supplies were weak. For example, no baking sheet etc. And the hot water did not work in the master and downstairs bathroom sinks. It did work in the showers and kitchen sink, thankfully.
