Great view of the lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Balsam Resort and plan to go back! Our room was on the second floor of the main (old) building and had a terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. The terrace faced away from all the cottages and was wonderfully quiet and private. The room was a little shabby but was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for a long weekend stay. The beach was steps away with plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables and lots of room to relax in the shade when the sun gets too hot. Our Canada Day long weekend visit included a performance by a live band (!) and a terrific fireworks display. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway within 2 hours of the city - and no Hwy 400 traffic!

Amazing family getaway!

I was pleasantly surprised to see how amazing Balsom Resort is. My family all had a blast, especially the kids (9 & 2). There is kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, paddle boards, and even a water bike all free to use for hotel guests. Nice clean bbq stations covered so you can cook in the pouring rain. Firewood is all supplied at the community fire pits daily also. I cannot wait to go back.

Has docking

We were travelling by boat on the Trent canal and booked it because it has docking . Didn't realize it is more family oriented and setup for longer stays. Location was great for us, just off the canal and it offers a nice beach area for children. Overall it was fine.

Great Place!

Stayed for one night, wish we were able to stay longer. Our room was steps away from the lake so we had an amazing view. The room was very clean and was better than we were expecting. We could have cooked a meal if we wanted, had a full size fridge, microwave, stove etc. The grounds were well kept with a nice sandy beach. We would have taken advantage of the fire pit but unfortunately it had rained. Owner was very nice. We will definitely be returning.

Clean, fun, and enjoyable.

Besides minor bugs near the door, the stay was unbelievably amazing! Very friendly staff, cozy bedroom and fun outdoor activities. Will definitely come back and recommend to others.

Balsam Resort

Long weekend visit to Balsam Lake Resort. Room had a balcony with a fantastic view of the lake. Room had everything that you would need and was very clean. Property provided propane barbecues, lots of lounge chairs, canoe, kayaks, paddle boards, etc to enjoy hanging out at the lake.
