Unfortunately your review is anonymous, so I don't know who I am responding to. I'm not sure what your experience level is at hostels, but most are for international travellers. Hence you would have heard a variety of languages spoken. But there is still great communication in English going on between everyone. The room is your normal size private for a hostel and meets the required health regulations. It's a wooden floor with a carpet overlay, so naturally there is a little bit of creeking but pretty minimal. As for the hallway light, there's a switch at both ends that run on a timer. But in any event, there's still light coming through. We're a very small and homely hostel with amazing activities unlike any other hostel, so we are unique. Unfortunately you seemed to have missed that experience which is a shame. Take care, Regards, Vaughan

G'day Stephanie, Glad you enjoyed your stay. As for the room, it's the legal size for an 8 bed dorm, in fact a little bigger. Re the actual bed, they're strong metal bed frames and I've never had someone complain about the actual bed frames before. However, I've had a look at them and they seem stable enough.
