No frills check-in at the bar, linen and room were very clean. Room was facing the main road and hence can hear the road noise, but it would not be a problem if you don’t mind. Coles is next door and the bar was good.

All very good untill person in room 1 (next door, with boarded up connecting door) turned on his tv. It was still on when we got up at 5am to go to hospital admissions at S.J.O.G hospital. Just unlucky I guess. Some people!

The Civic Hotel is good value for money if you are looking for somewhere to stay overnight and on the cheap. Room is comfy and clean. Staff are friendly and there is a pub downstairs. Close to supermarket, cafes, restaurants, public transport.

The room was large and had all of the facilities i needed includong huge lovely full kitchen. The staff were so friendly. Late check out was no problem. The service was very personalised.

Terrible Reception Service
I called the reception at 18:43, informing them that I would be arriving around midnight. The receptionist assured me she would send a text message containing the gate pin and a picture of the key box. Unfortunately, I received nothing until I arrived at the hotel door at 23:40. To my dismay, the surroundings were pitch black, and my repeated phone calls went unanswered. Exhausted and sleepy, disappointment and frustration overwhelmed me.

Hi,We are deeply sorry for this incident. It would appear that one digit in your phone number was incorrect, but the message still sent, the manager on duty had no reason to believe it hadn't been sent. On this occasion we have to hold our hands up and admit this was an honest mistake. We have refunded the stay to your card and launched a new policy to deal with late check in's. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you, Struan Venue Manager

We do list on our website and in our confirmation emails that we are a live music venue with live music several nights a week, so sometimes it can be noisy. I can only apologies with regards to the servicing of your room, I know we changed the towels over several times during your day and serviced the room twice, which is the standard.

Room itself was nice enough, however I had my car parked in their car park and had someone tamper with it. Be wary of leaving your car there for a few days, can’t say it’ll happen to everyone but just be careful.
