"Nos amies, ma compagne et moi-même avons passé un séjour globalement agréable dans ce gîte, qui dispose d'un cadre de vie très plaisant en pleine campagne. Cependant, nous avons rencontré quelques désagréments à notre arrivée : la vaisselle était poisseuse, les sols du rez-de-chaussée et de l'étage étaient sales, et il y avait encore de l'eau sur le sol de la salle de bain. Nous avons également dû acheter du produit vaisselle, car il n'y en avait pas, et le robinet de l'évier du salon n'avait...

Essential amenities were on the doorstep but there were a number of houses and business premises ‘for sale’ indicative of a declining community. This said, it was a good holiday with friendly locals and a good base for exploring the Orne/La Perche region."

"My fiancee and I only stayed one night at Chateau de La Riviere, and I wish we had stayed longer. Communications with Alice, one of our hosts, were clear and easy. Upon arrival, we were told that we were the only ones staying that night! This made it feel like a fairy tale - a chateau all to ourselves! The historical flavor of the property made us feel like we were back in the 17th century. We were served an excellent multi-course meal by Chef Carole, who not only prepped and prepared our meal, but personally served it to us. Upon our departure, we were offered a private tour of the Chateau by the owner. The owners, their new puppy, and sweet dog were lovely hosts. They provided a custom and unforgettable 24 hours. We will return. Merci for everything! "

"House and surroundings were lovely but wouldn’t sleep 17. We were worried we wouldn’t find enough to do but that wasn’t the case. However, Mele (the nearest town) was a little disappointing as most of the businesses were closed for a few weeks while we were there, in August but we had a lovely stay and the owner was very helpful."
