Detached granite cottage, 5 minute walk to the beach - Dogs Welcome

Little Rock is located in the village of Long Rock which is set between Penzance and Marazion. A quiet village which belies the fact that it nestles right on Mounts Bay and has all the joys of the beach without the hustle and bustle (and parking problems) of Marazion. Little Rock has been renovated to a high standard - with quality and comfort being our aim. Sat in the garden you can hear the waves lapping when the tide is in - that is how close you are to the beach! The small courtyard (totally enclosed) has quality table and chairs. Please Note: There is a single line train track next to the beach.

Lovely cosy little place with a lovely feel and had everything we needed. Bed and sofa were very comfy, bunk beds were a bit tight for an adult and the only bathroom is off of the main bedroom so more suited to a family than three adults. Very easy to find and parking was fine even in our truck (reverse in). It was a good base but walking from there was a bit limited due to having to cross A roads.

The most perfect Little Rock ♥️
We had the best long weekend at Little Rock. It’s in the most wonderful location. The property (even amongst Storm Ciaran) was so warm and inviting. I could’ve lived there! It was so nice to hear the waves at night and when it rained, it was like having the excitement of being camping, but the luxury of a solid roof 😄 The cottage has everything you’d need and we even had a welcome package (thank you!) that came in handy as forgot to buy loo roll 😄 Everything was lovely and clean and the Cornwall maps on the table were perfect to plan our first full day there. Jo and Andy were fantastic hosts, we had to delay our trip last minute due to illness, but they very kindly let us move our booking and it was worth every second of the wait to get there! The cottage is in a great location, with a bus stop right outside that takes you to Penzance or Marazion (and St Ives too) … I can’t wait to stay there again. We normally tend to stay in North Cornwall, but this makes the extra couple hours drive so worth it. You’ve got guests for life 😂 Thank you xx

Perfect home from home
Would recommend Little Rock to anyone with a small family who want to explore west Cornwall and have a great base. Just outside Penzance so not too busy but close to everything and good road links to everywhere. We were able to cook our own meals and do laundry which was really helpful being there for a whole week.

Gorgeous cottage
A really high spec cottage in an ideal spot for the buses (we didn't use our car at all once we'd arrived). Great pub next door, handy for the beach and a nice stroll to Penzance or Marazion.

Sweet Retreat
A relaxing few days is what we needed and what we got. The cottage was a little bit smaller than anticipated but we were fortunate enough to spend most of our time on Long rock beach. The property is well appointed and has everything you need for a short break, for us the bed was a little cramped being used to a king size bed and parking not easy with a SUV. However, the lovely welcome basket is both thoughtful and generous and this sweet cottage was all we needed to relax.

The cottage was gorgeous with a lovely garden and absolutely everything we needed for our four night stay. It is the perfect spot to explore this area of Cornwall.

Cute cosy cottage
A beautiful little cottage set back from the main road in Long Rock, behind the local post office. It was clean and well equipped with many things I wasn’t expecting such as dish soap, dishwasher and washing machine tablets as well as bin bags, salt etc, all of which I’d taken with me. There were also lots of dog bowls which again I wasn’t expecting so had taken with me. There was a welcome pack of Cornish goodies and milk in the fridge. The cottage is well laid out with living, kitchen and dining room in one. Two bedrooms along the corridor ending with a bathroom. As it’s all on one level it was ideal for me and my husband as we’re both disabled. Our two dogs loved it too although there was a lot of barking when the frequent trains passed but they eventually got used to it. The washing machine is situated at the end of the property in a shed extension. The garden is small and completely fenced in on all sides with mature plants and a spectacular specimen of a fatsia japonica just by the door. Ideal to keep dogs from getting out. There’s parking space for one car but I’d advise reversing in because it’s really tight parking to avoid hitting the nearby residents cars. Also beware of the oven thermostat switch as it is loose and falls off. The first time it happened I put it back the wrong way up and ended up trying to cook something for about 70 minutes in vain. All in all the property is warm but we did have to use the wood burner on one particular day when it was rainy heavily and quite cold. It’s situation is ideally positioned for exploring the South of Cornwall and it’s surrounding villages. We didn’t realise until the Friday evening that one end of the garden backs onto the garden of the local pub when we heard lots of people talking. It wasn’t a problem though. One of the cutest things in the garden is the painted pebbles left by previous visitors and the owners leave a basket of pebbles and some acrylic pens to actively encourage people to leave them. All in all a lovely visit. We’d definitely recommend it. Thanks for a lovely stay Andy and Jo.

A needed break
Cottage was lovely. Everything you needed. Would be nice to have welcome basket of logs for wood burner. Had to sleep in bunk bed as king bed far to soft for me. Hubby was okay though. Parking was difficult but we somehow managed. Both elderly but all we needed was at the cottage. It was a base for us to go to different places.

Little Rock
On arrival at this property, we found it exactly as described and very clean and warm. There is everything you could possibly need in this cottage and a completely secure garden area for our dog. The only disappointment for us was the rain and wind all week, which has nothing to do with the property, but in hindsight maybe booking in March wasn't the best time to enjoy Cornwall. However I would absolutely recommend Little Rock cottage for a holiday rental.
