"So happy to have discovered this interesting and beautiful hotel! We chose it because the price was good and we suddenly needed to stop as we were traveling in the area. Ots more than we expected - really an historic renovated very cool place. The owner has given great detail to everything. Gorgeous artifax, furniture, attention to tiny details, including freshly baked sourdough bread at the excellent breakfast (we bought some to take with us, the crust was so good). "overall its a great resort, but nothing like the Robinson clubs we have experienced in in other counries. Staff often tried, but were a bit unprofessional/not well trained and not very kind especially at the buffett. Simple things like a bottle of water at the kids table seemed too much. Plastic silver wear for kids were almost all broken. Dinner times fpr adults are with 19:30 just extremely late. When you are with kids you are pretty much forced to eat the kids dinner time eating nudels,...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Penkow?
For most visitors to Penkow, the best area to stay is directly within the village centre, particularly near Penkower See (Lake Penkow) or along DorfstraƟe.

This small village is centred around Penkower See, offering a tranquil setting. DorfstraƟe, the main road, runs through the village, connecting the few local guesthouses and holiday homes. The area is characterised by traditional Mecklenburg architecture and a calm, rural feel.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the village centre perfect. You can enjoy strolls along the lake, take part in water activities, or simply relax in the quiet surroundings. The focus here is on natural beauty and getting away from it all.

Families will also appreciate staying in the village centre. Many accommodations offer direct access to the lake, which is ideal for swimming or boating.
When is the best time to go to Penkow?
The best time to go to Penkow is during the late spring (May to early June) and late summer/early autumn (late August to September) when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities.

These months offer mild temperatures, fewer crowds than the peak summer, and beautiful natural scenery. You'll find the lakes are warm enough for swimming, and the forests are ideal for hiking or cycling without the intense heat of July and early August. This period is great for those who appreciate comfortable weather for exploring.

For travellers interested in water sports or spending time on the lakes, July and early August are also excellent choices, though you can expect more visitors. The days are longer, and the water is at its warmest, making it ideal for boating, kayaking, or simply enjoying the lakeside beaches.
