Had a great stay at this location. We all enjoyed the house especially its pickleball court and the game room. The host was very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend!
The cabin was huge and comfortable. My 2 boys had a blast and had so much to explore even just in the backyard. Only down spot was the zip line was broken when we arrived. The kids quickly recovered with some ping pong and never looked back.
We booked Lone Star Lodge for Thanksgiving this year and it did not disappoint! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The upstairs bonus area was great for the kids and they loved the air hockey table and pac man machine! We loved all the small touches like plenty of blankets, wood for the fireplace, and a fully stocked closet with games, corn hole boards, and even scooters. We will defintely be back!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin! There was plenty of room for our family of 13 and our miniature schnauzer. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped. We loved how peaceful and quite the neighborhood is. The kids really enjoyed the zip line, game room, and pickle ball court.
Overall, our stay was amazing and we would highly recommend it. We will definitely be coming back!
We all had a wonderful stay! We were able to check in early and start our day exploring the area. The creek is very close to the house but was a little difficult to get to since we were told by a neighbor we couldn’t go through the vacant lot. House was very nice and fit our two families great. If it had one more bathroom it would have been perfect but we knew there was only the two. The owners left us a nice surprise of s’mores for the kids as well! That was very nice and thoughtful.
This cabin was a perfect getaway! The cabin was large with plenty of space for a big family for friends to invite. Overall all the amenities that came with the cabin was enough for us to return again!
The hosts were amazing at communicating every step of the process.
Only downfall of the property not listed on the listing is that there is no AC in the cabin. Unfortunately we went on a weekend hotter than normal. However the host was very generous and ordered us two portable AC units for the cabin.
Overall a great stay! We will be back again for sure! Highly recommend
My family had a wonderful stay at the Lone Star Lodge! My teenager really enjoy ping pong, younger two had a blast on the zip-line, and my dog had fun exploring the property. We all enjoyed stargazing on the turf out back…perfect spot to lay out a beach blanket (with no need to worry much about bugs, since they don’t typically like artificial turf) it was great! I would say the best thing about the property is the location; super short drive to multiple river access points and some breathtakingly beautiful hikes. The hosts were super responsive when we encountered an issue with some missing ventilation hoses / hookups for new portable AC units—they were quick to help remedy the situation (which was needed given the intense heat wave that hit while we were there). I will note the property is on the older side…shows some signs of uneven foundation and could probably benefit from some additional updating. But honestly, nothing that would keep us from wanting to go back. Highly recommend!
The property was perfect for our family of 11 & golden retriever! The neighbors were very nice and helpful with suggestions of hikes for the kids, etc. Kids loved seeing all the cows, deer & elk come through the property! However, the fence could use some maintenance to keep wild animals out!
The stair railing was loose, my husband tried to fix it but the bolts were stripped, might want to have this fixed before a serious accident occurs along with the chairs in the dining room. Most of the legs were broken so we could not use the table. We also fixed the back door handle that had fallen off. Also, replacing or cleaning the rug in the living room downstairs, smelled and looked of dog pee! Just a little bit of updating & maintenance would make a big difference!
We would rent again!
We intended to use this lodge/cabin as a base for our adventures around Payson but because we loved it so much we ended up doing most of our activities here. We loved everything about this lodge. The owner was very accommodating and allowed us to put up a tent in the back yard for the kids to stay in. Would definitely stay here again.
Our family celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday during our stay. Our experience was amazing and beyond what we expected. We definitely enjoyed our time at the cabin!
Lone Star was an exceptionally clean, well appointed cabin that easily fit our 3 generations of 7 adults and 6 kids! We all loved how well stocked the kitchen was for cooking, and the 2 bathrooms were great! Outside we enjoyed playing softball and football, and the kids loved playing on the zip line! We all hiked the nearby Water Wheel trail, and used the pickleball court several times. There is a nice selection of board games too! We all had a blast and we would come back again!!
We had a great weekend, there were lots of fun things to do at the house. The owners were very responsive. Great place!

Quick getaway
Overall we all had fun! There were enough beds for everyone and that’s why we chose this home. However there are a few things to watch out for. It definitely needs a good cleaning and the parking situation is not great! The kitchen is fully stocked bu
Pro: The property was big enough inside and outside for the family to move around. Con: The cabin is very close to the main road. The front driveway was steep & VERY hard to see on coming traffic before pulling out. Plus the the traction was loose. Had one close call pulling out. The back way was much easier. The smaller bedroom downstairs was very warm and the ceiling fan didn’t work. Found a portable a/c in the closet that helped cool but was noisy. The inside was clean and bug free but the outside has so many cobwebs and critters crawling around.
