Villa Montparnasse was located conveniently close to the train and there plenty of shops, restaurants and bakeries within a brief walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were styled with traditional dark wood furniture and were lovely.

From the staff to the clean rooms, we felt right at home. We would definitely stay there again. It had access to the tube within just a few minutes. Then just a block away there was a Main Street neighborhood style with wonderful restaurants and of course pastries bakery yes again we definitely would stay there.

Comfortable, Quiet Hotel in a Great Location

Overall, a nice hotel in a great location that is close to many shops, restaurants, and the metro station. The staff were particularly helpful with check-in process and helping me carry all of the bags. We did have an issue with the hot water going out on several days while we were there. The bathroom could stand an update, but the room was comfortable and clean. The staff and location of the hotel were the highlights.

Excellent stay! Check in and check out was a breeze. Friendly staff. Great room. Small but bathroom was large and plenty of storage space. Perfect location. Close to Metro and Buses. Lots of cafes nearby. Neighborhood street market right around the corner. Neighborhood was quiet and very safe both day and night. Would absolutely stay there again and refer Villa Montparnasse to others visiting Paris.

This boutique hotel is really very nicely situated and provides a warm feeling. It is about 100mts from a main shopping street full of little food shops, bakeries, deli shops and restaurants. Highly recommend the hotel and location.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was comfortable, and the balcony was nice. Rooms are small in France, but ours was a superior size so a little more space I like the location a lot, it was far enough from touristy areas, but close enough to get around plenty of cafés in the area, and small places to shop. From what I can see with other hotels in the area, this provided all that we needed. My husband says the rooms are “cozy”, not really family size but perfect for us a great place to spend our 40th anniversary.

Great location for museums and attractions

This is a quaint hotel in the Latin quarter conveniently located in a fantastic neighborhood for outdoor dining, markets and shopping. The bus is just steps away from the lobby. Bus number 68 takes you to the main area for the museums and Eiffel Tower. The metro is also a few steps away. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Location was perfect. Room was a bit small, but I would say standard for France. Two reasons for low rating: 1 - air conditioning was not working (and it was quite hot the days we were there), and 2 - hair dryer was cracked and only partially functional (you could change the heat setting but there was no way to change the air flow level)

Villa Montparnasse has lots of things going for it. Overall we had a nice stay for three nights. Some areas could be improved. Bathrooms are dated, minor amenities such as soap were missing, so.e staff seemed very disinterested and we're not sure whether A/C was inoperational or just took a really long time to power up. Overall a pleasant stay, but it won't take much to improve some of the shortcomings. The area and the hotel certainly has a lot of potential.

The location and price of this hotel worked for us. We were able to get to the city center by riding the M4 metro line each day. The neighborhood is a mix of residential with one vital street that has many restaurants where prices are lower than the central tourist areas. It is right next to the Catacombs (closed due to staffing during our 4-day stay), and you can walk to Luxembourg Gardens. Shortcomings were that the breakfast was sparse for the price, rooms are small, and there is virtually no common area — usually a feature in hotels with very small rooms. Housekeepers did a good job, but carpet is so old that it is permanently dirty/dusty. The 90+ degree temperatures while we were there emphasized the lack of air conditioning (common in Paris). If the hotel has a four-star rating, that is a bit misleading. In any case, we worked around all these things and enjoyed our trip.

Nice little hotel with lots of potential. Definitely an expired four star as the facilities are nice but tired. Location very convenient two the metro 4, metro 6, RER B, Orly Airport Bus, and many local busses. My biggest issue with this hotel is the maid service. The rooms do not really get cleaned, it's simply a towel change. I do not typically mind this (I do not need new sheets every day), however the least they could do is take out the garbage. Instead people line their bottles/cans/etc up in the hallway. In any basic hotel, let alone a four star hotel, I'd expect more than alley-way service. Breakfast was good and in a nice room in the basement. Overall, I'd stay again if some basic changes were made to their services (taking out the garbage...)
