Would have been fine if better communication and responsive to problems

The place was ok. Honestly, I had waited to long to book, so while it was overpriced, it did look just like the pictures. It could have been a lot cleaner and didn’t have everything needed (corkscrew, more cutlery) but we would have been satisfied had there been acceptable communication and response time to problems. First, the apartment is part of a 3 building complex and we were not told this, so had no idea which building was ours. When we asked, they re-sent the same message that did not include which building was ours so we had to try all the keys in all the doors. We then went in and discovered the stopper in the bathroom sink was down and broken and so we could not use the sink. We told the owner about it immediately and he waited 8 days to get it fixed so we had no bathroom sink for our stay, days wait for responses to our follow up messages, and zero communication back from him after the building manager finally fixed it. Disappointing to say the least.

It was okay but not what we expected in terms of location, cleanliness and communication

The place was ok. Based on the neighbourhood and the outside of the building we were relieved that the apartment inside looked like the pictures. The communication from throughout the process was severely lacking. We should have been told that the pickup location for the keys was a small sketchy electronics store in a run down looking neighbourhood. We had to find people to help us as there was no signage or any indication that we were even in the right place. Once we had the keys we found the building, which is about a 5 minute walk away, there was the issue of what building we were staying in. The apartment is part of a 3 building complex which we were not told about so we had to try the key fob at each building. When we finally got inside even though the apartment looked like the pictures it was very dirty. All the baseboards had layers of dust and dirt, the kitchen utensils were dirty and the bathroom was disgusting. Dirty and stained walls, dirt caked on the baseboards and door, the rain shower did not work and the shower drain backed up so you had to constantly turn off the water as not to flood the bathroom. Just like the previous renters we too discovered the bathroom stopper was broken so we could not use the sink. Obviously it was not fixed. We also told the owner about it right away but we got no response. Very disappointing experience. It could be a good nice place but cleanliness and communication must improve first.
