"It was clean, comfortable, the AC worked great and the staff was great!
This is an older motel and needs renovation. Having said that, you must remember that you are in one of the most remote places in the US with Mexico about 5 miles from you (as the crow flies). We were out of the room and exploring most of the time. I was concerned about noise from the highway, but we were there mid-week and had no issue. The motel offers a discounted breakfast buffet at the diner next door- which we didn't use."
"My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days. Mark and Michelle are great for conversation and have extensive knowledge of the area for any questions. We had a blast seeing the wildlife around the property and enjoying the hot tub after a long hike. The stars truly were big and bright!"
"Everything was really clean and comfortable. The only suggestion is a black out curtain in the bedroom so car headlights don’t light up the room at night. Also a curtain over the window above the couch so the sun doesn’t reflect in the TV making it impossible to watch from the couch until the sun goes down."
"Remote, quiet, exceptional night skies. GREAT communication by property managers and a comfortable home with everything you need for a great stay. I very nice get-away yet close to Big Bend Nat'l Park (about 30 drive to the park gate near Study Butte. "
Christmas Mountains Ranch: Classic 2br/1bth Cabin with Spacious Wrap Around Porc
10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and exactly as the pictures showed. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Admittedly when i booked i thought it would be closer to Big Bend but we didn't mind the drive. I appreciated the driving instructions because we would have found the home without them. The night sky was amazing as were the sunsets. I loved the extra seating along the trail also. Very nice touches throughout the home and property. If you rent this property i would highly recommend not driving a car, the last 3 miles to the home are not paved. We were prepared with our truck so it was a non-issue. You will not be disappointed staying in this property. If you want to disconnect and enjoy nature... this is the place for you. "
