Amazing property but super insanely loud from 10 PM until 3 AM it is absolutely horrible not just the nightclub upstairs by the pool deck but all of the cars honking and blasting music until all hours of the night.

Nice looks & amenities but intense party hostel
Fwiw reviews are pretty accurate. Enjoyed my stay, but def some issues. Solo male, working traveller, 30yo from US, in 8person room. Staff was great, security was great, the overall property was very esthetically pleasing including the library area full of real plants. Tacos La Neta on the rooftop was great and the main restaurant near lobby area was good but also tons of great places nearby, prices of things start to add up tho if you eat here/out a lot. Chair massage was nice & not too expensive. Views from the rootop areas, pools, bars are just as pictured. Small roaches were mostly in the bathrooms or kitchen from folks not properly cleaning dishes. Never saw them in my bed or general room area. 100% a party hostel from Wed-Sun. Rooftop plays music Wed-Sun until at least midnight-2am or beyond & can be heard all the way 3 floors down throughout entire rooming areas. Nightclub in basement is Fri-Sat & just as loud, so dont plan on getting much sleep those nights, even with earplugs, if you dont want to party. Lots of locals & other travelers come here to party so it gets packed! Had a situation where people in my room where so drunk i had to request an urgent roomchange @ 430am bc the person in the bunk above me peed themself & it seeped through to my bed. Staff helped me change right away, but idk if mattress was ever cleaned/replaced (just sheets) as heard from others in that old room. All in all: probably wouldnt stay here again unless smaller room Mon-Wed.

I dont like to write bad review but roach infestation bothered us. We did not use the kitched beacause of it. It was pretty bad. One sign that effort was not there was that all the cutlery and cups was badly washed, not some , all of them, all had stains. We rented a studio and a two bedroom apprtment for a week. The place is noisy because of clubs on rooftop and outside window. The noise doesnt bother me so much but some people might not like it. If not for the roaches plausibly we would have considered return on our followup event.

Affordable and in the center of it all!
I've stayed here at this Selina many times and am never disappointed. It is beautifully decorated and the service this time especially was beyond expected. I would recommend for someone who wants to be in the center of the action in old town Panama. It isn't the most peaceful location for sleep, but if you like music and parties, this is the place for you!

Reasonably clean, twin beds extremely small, nice view of city. Way too many things broken: bathroom faucet loose, soap holder broken, outlet for hair dryer broken, shower didn’t drain, no hot water in shower ( okay in sink), couldn’t turn down AC eg permanently set at 75°, which mysteriously felt chilly.

Property was in great location for Old Town visit. Very friendly staff but very basic rooms that were old and tired. Clean inside the rooms but balcony dirty. Expensive for the type of accommodation. But good location for bars, pubs and restaurants. A little noisy, but don't go to Old Town if you want quiet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Despite the misgivings we would consider staying here again.

Ideal stay if you're looking to explore the city or nightlife. The location is close to some of the best restaurants - all within a 2-5 minute walk. The property also boasts one of the best night time scenes on their rooftop bar. I stayed at two different rooms during my stay and the suite was by far the best. Expect a lot of music straight till a little after midnight - be prepared for that. Might as well stay up and enjoy the fun haha. Definitely will be back next year.

Older couple but young at heart
It was new to us, we are in our 50s and we always stayed at hotels , this is our first time at a hostel and it was great for meeting younger people, right on the middle of action, if you still feel alive and not in the box yet then this is the place.

The social areas of the property are awesome, with people coming from outside to enjoy the rooftop bar and restaurant. The food at the taco place was delicious and the views from the bar were great. However, the rest of the property was pretty dirty. There were two cockroaches in my room, both of which loved going under a dirty rug that was in the room, and one which I managed to kill. The bathroom in the cafe downstairs was also unclean. The first time I used it, there was no soap and the second it was flooded with toilet water. The room was also pretty sad. It had a window that you couldn't really open since it was to the hallway rather than the outside. There was also no way to turn off the AC. I wouldn't stay again, but I would probably go back to the rooftop to hang out.

Great spot to meet people - at the cafe or rooftop bar with good tacos. Mondays & Tuesdays are pretty dead though. Airconditioned room was sweet & funky with writing mural on the wall - it was halfprice on the 3rd & 4th day. $8 prepaid breakfast with coffee was a bargain - the omelet was yummy but the Panamanian breakfast was wierd with loads of carbs & a sliced hotdog. Take a cycle tour of Casco Viejo & the city - very cool.

I stayed for one night but I wish I could stay more to enjoy this beautiful place. I reserved a private room with a bathroom and I have no big expectations since it was only for one night. When I got to Selina, the ladies in the reception were so nice and polite and I got lucky to get an upgrade to one of their suites. The room was beautiful with amazing views of the city everything was clean and well designed considering the buildings at casco Viejo are old. The hostel/hotel atmosphere is amazing, the bartenders and servers were so nice and no complaints at all. I didn't know that I need a COVID test before flying back to the US from Panama and the staff at Selina arranged everything to get my test done before my flight. On the rooftop, there is a restaurant and bar, and is known for the best parties in Panama during the weekend. A lot of people complain about the noise but come on! it is a matter of common sense, you can not expect a quiet place in the heart of casco Viejo. If you need a quiet place, stay close to the airport but if you want to enjoy the heart of Panama and have a great time meeting people, with good meals and awesome drinks, this is your place. I am looking forward to coming back soon and staying longer. Thank you again.

Way over priced for the quality. We have one team member leave in the middle of the trip because it was not a good environment. Music plays until 4 am with zero noise reduction. Team member couldbnot sleep for days due too noise.

The servicing of the rooms was irregular, the AC didn't work properly (I have had this issue at this hotel before), many items were not available from the breakfast menu that was paid in advance, and the indoor mask mandate was simply not enforced- especially in the elevator which leads to the rooftop taco bar, La Neta.

The rooftop bar is fun, had an amazing view, and really hops at night. Also, the food was delicious. The room isn't much to speak of, but it was adequate, and the bathroom was fine. This place markets to a much younger crowd; I'm older, but had a great time people watching. The location is awesome, and the price was fantastic. It is no Marriott, but that isn't their thing. I would stay there again.

I like the concept of Selina. When I made the reservation I did not notice that it was a hostel and I bought it was more like CitizenM. The common areas are so cook The roof top has a beautiful view. Staff is friendly.

Selina in Casco Viejo
Selina is in a great old town location. Staff is friendly. The roof top restaurant/bar with views are the highlight of Selina. The places is comfortable and creativity designed. The food is very good. The room I stayed in was very small but was really only used for sleeping. Shared bathroom was ok.

Selina is the best place to stay for solo travelers in Casco Viejo..i stayed in room 533.. my room was lovely! Had ocean views of Panama city ..my bed was big and comfortable! The rooftop views were amazing also! Definitely staying here again when i return!
