Pleasant stay

The location was perfect just outside the main hub , the receptionist she was fabulous very welcoming and helped us with maps and advice to see and navigate around the city . Our room was comfortable good sized double and plenty of bedroom furniture and a good shower. Breakfast was a good standard with decent coffee. Pleased with our 4 night stay.

Only stayed 1 night, wish I had booked a longer stay. Room was clean and exactly what we needed for our stay. Breakfast had wonderful fresh pastries and cakes. Only place we encountered with instant coffee, but the fresh cake more than made up for that. Beautifully restored apartment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were able to drop off luggage early (9am) after getting off overnight ferry.

The property was located in a convenient area, within walking distance to the main markets, other sights, and the airport bus stop. The host was kindly enough to arrange check-in at a time convenient to us, and the communication was smooth. The room itself was large, but the mattress felt a bit old. We loved the balcony and the view it offered. The breakfast spread was good! We also appreciated the elevator, a rare amenity in older European buildings.

This B&B is located on a pedestrian only street/area and is very quiet. Many restaurants on same and nearby blocks. Mini market and pharmacy no more than 3 blocks away. Short walk to major sights.

This is the most beautiful B & B in Palermo. We stayed in a room that the the most gorgeous Al Fresco ceiling and spectacular Mruano Crystal Chandelier. The manager of the B&B even even walked our luggage to the next hotel so we did not have to carry it over the cobblestone streets and sidewalks. Everything was PERFECT at B&B Palazzo Benso.

Little gem of a place

Friendly, relaxed stay for 3 nights. Staff were just lovely, couldn't be more helpful. Clean, large room with a view out over the street, but still quiet. It was a little bit out of the main town, about a 25 minute walk to the train station, but there is an airport bus stop just a 5 minute walk away, and all the sights are walkable - Palermo isn't a large city. Breakfast was usual Italian fare, plenty to start the day, and great strong coffee to wake you up! Great choice of restaurants and bars nearby too. Would definitely recommend.

Palermo History

Palazzo Benso is a great 19th century historic building with the flavor of Palermo. Beautiful interior and fixtures. Comfortable bed, perfect for us. Breakfast is lovely with a nice variety of treats. The hosts, Germano and Maria Giovanna, are very gracious and helpful with our Italian language learning process. The location is in the heart of the city with nearby historic sites and great beauty. Interacting with people of Palermo was a wonderful experience.

Staying at this B&B gives you the option of being within easy walking distance of the tourist herding zones without having to fully stay within them. It's easy to get access to the major bus lines (although the trams will be a hike), there's plenty of food in the area, you're right next to the harbor, and the room itself is very nicely rendered and maintained: the only real flaw is not having an outlet near the desk. It takes multiple keys to get in -- four in total -- but the owner has taken the unusually sensible step of numbering them for you. And if you can read Italian, there's a lovely little library section on the second level. This is not only a good central base of operations for Palermo, but also offers the option of retreat when the tourist portions turn too noisy. Would absolutely stay here again.
