Welcome to Tall Pines Retreat!

This craftsman-style wood home is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Lake Forest Estates, surrounded by tall Ponderosa pines that provide ample shade and comfort. Despite being conveniently located close to town, the house retains a calming, forest-like feel. This home features 3 bedrooms and 2½ baths.

Enter through the covered front porch to a spacious area with vaulted wood ceilings that encompass the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The main room boasts numerous windows, a cozy gas fireplace, a sofa bed, and a Smart TV. The well-appointed kitchen is fully stocked and ready to help with all your culinary needs. Adjacent to the dining area, the sunroom is ideal for morning coffee or a quiet read.

All bedrooms feature French doors that open onto one of three decks, ensuring ample outdoor access and a connection to nature. All bedrooms have Smart TVs. The master bedroom hosts a king-size bed, a sitting area, and access to the back deck. It also includes an en-suite bathroom complete with a deep jetted soaking tub and shower.

The 2 additional bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds and the other with a queen-size bed, share a full bath between them. Both rooms open to a large deck, spanning the length of the house, featuring outdoor seating and a gas fire table perfect for al fresco dining.

Step outside to a newly built deck and pergola over a 6-person hot tub. Gather around the cozy gas fire pit for an evening of marshmallow roasting and stargazing. Whatever you decide to do, you will find all you need at Tall Pines Retreat!

This home has a swamp cooler

This is pet friendly for dogs only. 2 dog max. The pet fee is 75.00 per dog, as well as a refundable 100.00 per dog as well.

All trailers, RV's, campers or other recreation vehicles must be approved prior to arrival to be allowed on premises.

Please note there is a $50 cancellation fee that applies to all cancellations made after booking.

Absolutely magical stay from start to finish! It was just after Christmas and the added decorations and Christmas tree lights on the outdoor tree made things even cozier for our family. The house had everything we needed and was so comfortable - loved the fireplace, hot tub and kitchen - loved the new appliances and beds - location is fabulous as well and near grocery stores and restaurants - all was great - don’t hesitate!

Phenomenal mountain getaway!

This house has it all! You can tell the owners have put some serious thought in their amenities. From bedside fans in the bedrooms (we love white noise) to extra blankets all over the house to spare toothpaste in the bathroom- the attention to detail is amazing. The kitchen is also the most well stocked of any home I’ve stayed in for vacation. We were cooking the whole time so that was very appreciated! Would absolutely stay again and 110% recommend.

We did enjoy our stay in Tall Pines! The home is nice, and clean, and the kitchen is completely stocked! My only comment would be one photo showing the outdoor chimenea, and it is even on the property, but the HOA does not allow any outdoor wood fires, that was a bit misleading, but overall the property was GREAT!

Relaxing stay with family

We had an amazing stay. The house was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. Love that it had Things that we didn’t even know we would need or want. The amenities were really nice. Plenty of places to have privacy with three separate outdoor decks. And most of all our dog felt welcome. There were dog bowls, toys, and a few other things that really showed the tremendous attention to detail. Hopefully next time we can stay for a longer time.

Pagosa Springs Retreat

We had a fantastic time at Pagosa Springs. The house had quality beds and bedding, towels for bath and hot tub, all the necessities for cooking and cleaning, and very few rules for checking in and out. VIP Services were very helpful and answered our questions right away. They also arranged activities and the best massage ever with therapist Sarah Herbert Scott. The hot tub was very large and perfect after a day at Wolf Creek. This house had everything we needed and more! We will definitely stay here again.

Great Place in Pagosa

The property was exactly as described. It was well maintained and very clean. Defiantly a lived in and decorated owner home. We like to cook many of our meals and the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans etc along with a nice amount of spices. Although we could have used some more kitchen towels but maybe we just didn't know where to look. Hot tub was clean a hot. Definiately would be a return for us.

Our family does not get together regularly due to kids being in 2 states and Canada so when we collect we want to be able to spend time together and enjoy our location. Tall Pines Retreat checked all boxes and more. Located in a friendly community, with easy access to everything in Pagosa Springs as well as beautiful panoramic views all situated next to miles of great hiking/running trails. the house was amazing and fully decorated for the holidays, which really boosted the festivities. The house was fully stocked and in excellent condition, with everything we needed for cooking, snacking, playing dice and board games. But the highlight was the hot tub! Situated right next to the house it was extremely popular with everyone! Great night sky views along with relaxing sore muscles from all the hiking! We can't say enough about how much family fun we had during the week! Great Job and our highest recommendations! Enjoy as we did!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Management & owners of the property are one in the same-owner Stuart Scull). The property was outdated, cluttered, and most importantly, not ready for rental. We booked reservation for 11/18-24/23; paid deposit 8/6. Deadline for a 100% refund was 10/17. On 10/21 VIP charged credit card for balance due. 11/15, 3 days prior to check-in, VIP emailed me denying access to the rental unit until I signed a contract. No mention of a contract required in the rental property listing, at time of booking, before the 10/17 refund deadline or 10/21.The contract was threatening in tone and replete with fines. I consider it dishonest on VIP’s part to present me with a contract after the 10/17 refund deadline. Had VIP been honest with me from the start regarding the contract, I would not have rented their property. VIP advised me a contract had been sent via Adobe Acrobat on 10/30. I did not receive a readable document from VIP until 11/17, which I signed so I could have access codes on 11/18 to enter rental. The dishonesty and resultant stress were unnecessary. Arriving 11/18 at 10:30pm, finding there were insufficient towels; notes pasted throughout rental stating what we should/should not do; icemaker was locked/unusable; Keurig coffee error displaying “needs cleaning” (grounds in brewed coffee); kitchen trash can inoperable; freezer door light displayed “need to change filter"; and right front eye of gas stove sputtered. 11/21 we discovered oven was inoperable (error light displayed “F11 heat error”). We realized at this point it would be impossible to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. With that no longer possible, we vacated the rental on 11/22, notifying VIP we checked out 7:00am, explaining the issues detailed above and advising VIP the unit should not have been rented, and requested 2 remaining nights refund. After 2 months attempting to correspond with VIP and requesting VRBO's assistance, VRBO notified me VIP promised a writte
