Hotel excellence.
This is what a hotel should be like which attracts repeat business. Immaculately clean, excellent decor, good wifi, warm welcome from owner who cares about customers. A significantly better experience than my hotel the night before in Shrewsbury, which i have slated accordingly because there was nothing good about that terrible experience.

Good all round - decent location, reasonable walking distance to city centre, fair sized car park, clean and fresh feel throughout hotel, friendly and with very good cooked breakfasts to set you up for the day :) Only slight gripe was the sink in our room not draining properly but that didn't stop it from being a very pleasant stay.

Good place to stay
Warm welcome. Room on first floor comfortable but bed squeaked and pillows were not very soft. Hairdryer and toiletries provided were welcomed. Breakfast good with selection of cooked meals. Scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms and tomatoes and beans was delicious. Good variety of teas. Parking easy. Easy access to buildings and room.

Great place for location a 5 min bus ride into Oxford. Great welcome from John a man of information. Cleanliness excellent. Decor good well kept. Breakfast top score. Room was adequate size and comfortable...... however it had no window bad choice for our hot summer.... we did have a fan And survived. Would definitely return but would choose a different room.

A Great Place to Stay at a Low Price
Lovely buildings with character. Excellent service from a helpful manager with unusually good attention to detail. The rooms were large by UK standards, small by USA standards. Very clean, with a nice shower. While there was no air conditioning, there was a powerful fan, and let's be honest, it is England, so the weather rarely is warm. It is a 20-minute walk, but a beautiful one, to Magdalen college. I am 40, short, and fat, and I found the walk effortless and refreshing, with pretty buildings to look at on the way. The breakfast was included with a large array of options, from the light and healthy to a traditional full English breakfast. Overall, a lovely experience.

This was an excellent place. As i needed to be at the university, it was a bit out of the way, but the breakfast was nice, the staff friendly, and the room well appointed and clean. The mattress was one of the hardest I've ever slept on, and the blankets were thin, but the heater worked well and I slept like a log. The bathtub was a real pleasure - a deep jacuzzi tub. I'd do it all again.

Very nice on bus route to city center
Very clean. Secure perking. 5 min bus ride to city center. Excellent breakfast. Local pub 7 min walk with good food a lot cheaper than downtown. Close enough to city center to be convient far enough to have much lower price. Expedia indicated laundry available this was Thursday only nearest laundermat is a 30 min. Walk. Only affected us because we are on a 3 month trip. Very helpful owner kept our luggage while we were on a side trip. Good info on bus connections etc.

Hmmm. The whole place was like a throwback to the 80s. Very clean, but the furnishings were very tired. Parking out the back was useful but the reason I'm writing is that the bathroom was terrible. The shower was little more than a trickle and took forever to heat up. Admittedly once is got hot it stayed hot but it was one of those 'via the bath taps' jobs. No shower curtain. And the ceiling sloped in over the bath so it was hard to stand up under the shower head. Seriously guys, shell out for a decent shower unit! And a 10:30 checkout time on a Sunday is a little draconian. The cleaners were banging on the door at 10:31!

Pleasantly surprising! Great Hotel!
I honestly wasn't expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! The hotel was extremely clean and the room was a lot bigger than expected. Also very clean. Good shower/toilet. Bed wasn't 5-stars, but it certainly provided a good nights sleep. Great breakfast, friendly staff, clean hotel great location. What more could you ask for!

Excellent hotel for its type
Hotel is quiet, clean, and well maintained. It's a bit outside of town, but the #3 tram takes you downtown in 10 minutes. There is parking for those with cars. The proprietor is friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again.

No problems with stay
The room was homely and contained more than sufficient plugs for today's traveller (being able to watch television, boil a kettle, charge three devices & a laptop simultaneously, should I have wished to do so, and still had sockets to spare!). There is free wifi readily available which is of a good speed. It took a very long time to get hot water out of my shower (the trick, I discovered, was to run the shower until other ablutions had been completed, by which time the water would be warm); you could never plan how long breakfast would take, as you had to wait for staff to appear in order to take your order. Neither of these things is a major issue. Would I stay here again? Yes, albeit I would still hope to be able to stay elsewhere if within my price range.

Unusually good for Oxford in this price range
Great for Oxford ..this does seem more like a hotel tho small, with a good sized breakfast room, separate small room with small counter that looked like it could be a bar, and a separate small sitting room with sofas and plugs so you could potentially sit somewhere other than you room. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Owner John lives on premises and very helpful with details of getting around Oxford, avoiding traffic and traffic tickets, etc. very accommodating including help with getting luggage up and down the stairs since there is no elevator. Better than concierge service at more expensive hotels. Excellent signage makes it easy to find this place even in the dark night. Great parking lot with plenty of spaces. Coop market with fresh baked goods daily just down the block. Straight shot to walk to the high street with all he shops and restaurants. 15 minutes to get to the shops and 30 minutes to get all the way to the pedestrianized Cornmarket street. There is also the number 3 bus that runs along the road in front of the hotel and along the high street so if you don't want to walk, you can take the bus. The one drawback is you need to bring your own hairdryer..dual currency of you are from another continent, because the hairdryer which is attached to the wall overheats and cuts off so you can only dry your hair 45 seconds at a time and have to wait in between for the thing to cool down so it will restart.
