We were really disappointed with the state of the place. On arrival, the property wasn’t ready—cleaners were still there with significant work left to do, which meant we had to leave and come back later. This was frustrating after a long journey and having paid 40 for an early check-in.While the early entry fee was refunded along with a small goodwill gesture, further issues during the stay made the overall experience less than optimum. Later in the week, we returned to find the cleaner/manager at the property without any prior notice, showing another potential guest around. This felt like a serious breach of privacy and was very uncomfortable.Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major issue throughout. The kitchen and utensils had a noticeable film of grease, with dirty cutlery, limited items (only three forks), and even open packets of stale food in the cupboards. We had to wash everything before we could use it. The oven was filthy, the fan greasy, and there was a thick layer of dust on items on the shelves. The cookware was also very worn and grimy, which didn’t match the listing photos or description.The rest of the house showed similar issues, including dirt/food on the couch, crumbs under cushions, crumbs on the floor, dusty furniture, and dirty tablecloths, flat batteries in the remotes. While some of these things on their own might be minor, together they gave a clear impression that the property hasn’t been properly maintained or cleaned for some time.
