A Modern Step Back in Time
A glorious old home, it had beautiful modern bathrooms and kitchen. Owners have chosen so many antique pieces of furniture and accents. The bedrooms were authentic, and beds were plush. Linens and towels were5 star quality. House has two bright sunrooms each with a gorgeous white sofa or sectional. Perfect for lounging or reading. Huge pool is a bonus! Surrounded by lovely outdoor furniture. Rachael was helpful and friendly. An amazing stay! Jan

Amazing!!
If I could rate this amazing property more than 5 stars I would. Pictures do not do it justice, beautiful! Host Rachel was amazing and so helpful. A beautiful step back in time with the absolute right modern touches. Kitchen and all bathrooms completely renovated and beautiful. Amazing large pool and deck area. Walking distance to everything - downtown, lighthouse, restaurants, the beach. A delight!

Charming Victorian home away from home
The house was superb for our stay, which consisted of two families. It offered everything we needed plus more. It had plenty of space and just about everything we would need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The "more" part is the attention to detail with all the Victorian era décor while having modern conveniences. The backyard and the pool were perfect to gather and relax in. It was also conveniently located in the town so walking to main street or the shops or the beach was a breeze. Rachael, our host, was really gracious and easy to deal with. She was responsive to all queries and offered lots of suggestions to make our stay in the town even more rewarding. We look forward to a return visit.

Once-In-A-Lifetime Experience!
What an incredible experience our group of 10 friends & family enjoyed over 4-days here at the Merchants House. This historic mansion that we called home for an extended weekend away together, could not have been more impressive - the online photos couldn't possibly do justice to the reality of seeing it for ourselves. So many places to gather or get some alone time. Huge bedrooms with their own ensuite/designated washrooms and sitting areas - offered everyone more privacy and an opportunity to spread out in comfort. Pool and firepit were irresistible features that kept us all outdoors most of the time. Property owner, Rachel, was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start-to-finish, and she went above-and-beyond our highest expectations for personalized service; such a gracious host. Beds were so comfortable that every single person commented about how well they slept! Luxurious linens and towels, in generous quantities were provided for our stay. Also have to mention the atypical noon check-in/3pm check-out times for this rental, which are way better than anywhere else on VRBO (+affiliates). One criticism - just to ensure this is a balanced review, would be that there's no microwave; such a little detail but we quickly discovered how much it was needed... because we only lasted that first day before going out to buy one. Thank you so much Rachel, for sharing this special home with us and for all of the memories we made in it!
