Location was awesome, staff was friendly, but it did feel a little bit like a dorm room for some reason. Not a lot of detail into the room and didnt really feel like a 175$ room. But otherwise it was a very nice stay, didnt hear the bar at all from our room!

Stayed overnight for a conference held in Ottawa. It was very easy to get to and from the conference venue. The receptionist was very pleasant but it was strange to find it at the back of the building pass a bar/ restaurant/ kitchen. It wasn’t well indicated it was for the hotel. We stayed in the tipper room: very beautiful, but the giant spacious glass shower is open for viewing. No privacy what so ever; might as well have the toilet out in the open too. The music was not as bad or loud as I expected it; it was more the people outside in the street chatting and smoking that were louder. They should be redirected to the courtyard off the to the side( some space you can use)

Where the action is a beautifully restored historical building with unique and comfortable rooms This is the place to stay if you want to be in the centre of where the fun is on the weekends. Lively people, bands and a festive atmosphere, indoor and a large beautiful outdoor space. Wonderful place for friends to gather or to meet new faces

I was quite disappointed overall. Mainly with the management of the hotel and the lack of adequate customer service 1. I was put into a room where the Air Conditiojing did NOT work. The office staff knew of the air conditioning issues and istead of putting me into a room where AC did work they first tried to put me into a room without proper functioning AC. I dilaed 3 times to the main desk before someone actually answered the phone. The individual then tried to convince me to stay in the room and "be patient" with the air conditioning issue and see how it works. I informed them that I would much rather just be put into a room with working AC.. eventually they did that. 2. So as I mentioned they do not answer phones quickly. I have had to dial between 3 to 5 times for every request. For example the coffee machine was very confusing. I had to call many times. Usually in Hotels where you pay these prices they answer the phones much quicker 3. The service is very slow. The staff seem non energetic and simple requests take too much time waiting. The most disappointing part is that they are still renting out a room where they know the Air Conditioning is not always reliable (they even have a spare, window attaching air conditioner within the room, so clearly this is an issue they were aware of) The one thing I loved: The restaurant staff were terrific! The Bar tenders, evening restaurant staff service were terrific

I would like to be able to view more english channels on tv for example space and historia and discovery etc. Otherwise it was very appreciated, so close to everything !

The room we booked had the AC broken, so the hotel had put a very laid portable one to mitigate, but it would've been impossible to sleep with it. When asked the staff what to do, they did not provide an alternative (switching rooms, credit, etc). So we slept with the windows open, preferring to deal with the outside noise. Called Expedia, and even though they hadn't collected any money (this is a "pay at the hotel" property) they offered us. compensation. Such a shame, cause otherwise it's a nice property.

Tried to check out at 7:30am. Doors locked and no one available. Helpful cleaning staff member called them to be told they opened at 8. Left the key with him! No news from hotel about final bill etc.

Great vintage style hotel
Beautiful historic hotel with spacious and modern rooms. Located on the very charming treelined old main street of Gatineau with numerous restaurants and fabulous patios, including at the hotel itself.

The rooms are lovely. The dining room / pub excellent but on Friday evening we wanted to sit and have a quiet drink but the music was ear splitting. Not at all enjoyable

I failed to heed the warnings of other reviewers with regards to the pub noises. It really depends on which day of the week you stay there, I guess, but the patrons were so loud that I was unable to get any sleep until give or take 4am after the staff cleaning up stopped yelling to each other. This was aggravated by the fact that the AC unit is positioned behind a dogleg corridor, over the main door to the room, and does not have anywhere near enough fan power to cool the main sleeping area. The last problem was the bathroom, the huge windows going down to knee level were not both frosted, with the over overlooking the dining area having a clear view into the shower stall, and off the mirror at the toilet. The only thing I can recommend is the cleaning crew - the facilities were spottlessly clean, well above what I generally see at hotels.

The hotel is beautiful and very historic. It has recently been renovated and is visually very nice. The layout is comfortable and spacious and the bed is very comfortable. A few hopefully helpful criticisms: 1) it is hard to unpack a suitcase as there is no place to put folded clothes - there are 2 cabinets, one with a shelf and nothing in the other. This would not be a good place for a long stay. 2) when you open the door, immediately in front of you is a small mirrored armoire - disconcerting as it looks like someone is coming towards you. 3) the pull cord to close one of the window shades was dangling as it had come out of the wall. Those things aside, it was a lovely place to stay for a few nights.

Lovely hotel although very busy in the bar and restaurant on Friday night - hard to find parking. I was glad our room was far as possible from the bar. The only thing I did not like was the CLEAR GLASS shower facing the room. At my age (somewhere over 50) some frosted film at torso level would be appreciated. We did eat in the restaurant Thursday night and the food was very good.

Nice getaway.
The staff was friendly and accommodating to my wife who does not speak French. Lots of a amenities in the neighbourhood within reasonable walking distance, even in -27° temperatures.

This hotel is amazing, lots of history, one of the oldest buildings in the Gatineau area and completely refurbished. Dinning room was great, food and service was excellent, room was amazing. I totally recommend it

Beautiful historic spot
The whole experience was great. Just beware that they aren’t lying about pub noise. The music was cranked and not what I would expect from a Pub. If your in for a good night, the Pub looked nice and they sounded like they were having a blast.

,Great atmosphere and very comfortable rooms the location of this place was perfect for the training seminar that we were attending. The street had some nice places to visit. The staff in the restaurant and bar areas were great to deal with and very friendly to all of us. The atmosphere in the bar area made it so we did not really have to go anywhere else for our leisure and entertainment time.

Terrible service. I booked the premium honeymoon penthouse but they moved me to a different room that always gets noise complaints, so they felt a discount would be adequate. When I arrived, there was no one there and the doors were locked. No answer on the phone and they did not return my voicemail or emails. I had to find another hotel if I didn’t want to sleep on the street. Stay away from this hotel!
