This is rooming house accommodation. While the property was clean, I misunderstood the listing. I thought it was a kitchenette suite.
Bathrooms are shared; kitchen is shared. Sleeping rooms are very small. It was quiet, the other guests were very respectful, and the manager was responsive and thoughtful.
The name is a bit misleading, as there is not much heritage left in the old house.
The location is convenient to the O-train at uOttawa, and buses; it is in a nice old neighbourhood full of students and families, and it is within very easy walking distance of Parliament Hill, as well as Byward Market, if you like walking the city.
The "Host: did not answer the door after I knocked on it and rang the doorbell. The neighbour phoned the "host" for me, and she still refused to open the door saying I had no reservation. That neighbour told me it happens all the time, that they abandon their guests at the door. So I was without a room on a Friday night of a long weekend. Ruined the whole trip.
