The hosts are very kind and friendly; however, the facilities could be improved. Specifically, rooms are NOT air conditioned, and this is very uncomfortable during Ottawa’s increasingly frequent heat waves. Also, common areas are jammed with stuff making it feel disorganized, untidy, dark and dusty. The furniture in my room was mismatched and very worn — beyond vintage charm.
It’s great value for the location, but next time, I will shell out more for a regular hotel with air conditioning, decor that feels tidy and clean.
Fantastic, quiet B&B in a perfect location just north of Downtown Ottawa -- under 10mins walk to get to downtown core, and B&B is directly across the street from the Natural history Museum. An older home on a lovely, quiet street, my ground-floor bedroom was clean and charming and the full-size bed was very comfortable -- overall, simple and comfy accommodations (I prefer when B&Bs aren't trying to go over the top or be too showy/fancy). A shared bathroom was located between two rooms, also very clean and perfectly functional.
Easy walkable access to a host of great little local restaurants and pubs that run along both nearby Bank St. and Elgin St. The owners -- Harri and Siri -- were absolutely amazing -- friendly, open and welcoming, and always had some interesting things to say! But they also fully respected my privacy and let me do my own thing. I didn't get a chance to actually try their Veggie breakfast (sadly, had to work too early during my stay), but if the breakfast is even a fraction as good as Harri and Siri were as hosts, I am sure it must be very delicious, indeed!
Overall, for the price I paid and the perfectly chill and relaxing experience I had, I suspect that any future business visit to Ottawa will have me staying at this B&B instead of any of the much pricier hotels downtown.
Fantastic value for money.
Place is untidy. Later in the evening I discovered the toilet was clogged. Calls to owner went unanswered. No fix by morning. I had to use the toilet.Unsanitary and I had to use the toilet. I packed up and left. Left the key in the door, messaged the owner I was checking out. I left the place. Messages to the owner through hotels.com have gone un-answered. I want a refund for the nights I could not stay there. No answers to several messages. The owner does not appear to care about upkeep to the point that this place was not fit to stay in. Terrible experience.

Advertised as a B&B but there was no breakfast. The building is old and not that well maintained. Furnishings are also old and unattractive. Very cluttered. Cleanliness was average. The bedding was old and the bed was not well made. We had some doubts as to whether the sheets had actually been cleaned (hard to say with any certainty because of their age). We do not recommend unless you are in desperate need of a place to sleep for one night.

The house could be very nice but there is allot of unused furniture cluttering up the rooms and beds / Mattresses could be updated
The hosts are very nice and ready to accommodate any needs that you might have. I arrived late (about 8:30pm) and they waited for me. I suggest that if you are arriving later than 6pm call them directly to let them know.
The room was nice and the bed was comfy. I was a little nervous about sharing a bathroom but there were no issues at all. As a single woman travelling alone I felt very safe. Also, the location is close to many of the attractions in Ottawa, including the Nature Museum and the parliament buildings. I would definitely stay here again.
I had a wonderful time during my short trip.
The house is old, so surely the facilities may not be as good as some newer places. However, it was still okay in general, and its age makes it a nice option for people who want to see what older houses are like (despite the age of the house in general, the washroom has been lately updated and was clean, as someone picky about washrooms, I'm generally satisfied).
The owners are very welcoming. I was a bit confused and nervous before my trip as I didn't receive instructions about check-in, but the whole process turned out to be easy and smooth. Simple vegetarian breakfast is included with no extra charge. The dairy products, the cereals, and the baked toast are great.
Generally good location with the Museum of Nature and plenty of good restaurants, pubs, and other food places around the property. It's not close to O Train but bus stops are within a few minutes' walk, and it's an easy drive from the airport.
Another thing I liked is that unlike some other B&Bs, I didn't find any stringent and hard house rule, instead things generally remained quite flexible.
It's worth noticing that the owners now have two (lovely) dogs, so for people who are not comfortable with dogs for any reason, better to notify the property beforehand so that you can make arrangements beforehand.

This place is misrepresented. There is no breakfast. The picture above is not the place. I had no safe parking available even though I called in advanced to confirm that it will be in fact available. The owners did all they could to convince me to park my car in the farthest corner through ice and unshoveled snow where I would get stuck either on the way in or out. I tried to shovel the snow myself to make parking possible . Eventually I had to park in the street with a fear of being towed. During the whole process I was yelled at and had the door slammed in my face. I suggested they refund my money, but they refused.
You won’t be able to adjust the thermostat. If you are a light sleeper, bring your ear plugs-you are by the street. The place is clean, but cluttered. The mattress was firm though, I liked that. The whole experience was stressful.
Quirky bnb with super friendly owners and lovely room. Located opposite the natural history museum, in walking distance from all key sights. Would recommend!
Très bel accueil des hôtes. Ils ont à coeur le confort de leurs visiteurs. Endroit très bien situé. Les principaux attraits du centre-ville sont accessibles à pieds. Je retournerais sans hésiter!
I don’t usually write reviews, but felt compelled to write a review to hopefully help others. Calling this place a Bread and Breakfast is a stretch. It certainly doesn’t have the appearance of one nor the upkeep. The house is very cluttered, the room was at least tidy, though it had a very old mattress that bent in the middle when laid on. The price charged is definitely not justified for the lodging, the only positive thing was the location. The owners are cordial, but not withstanding, it is not a place I would recommend due to the house conditions.
