Great location for a getaway out of the city center, but transportation is an issue for tourists, and food choices are non-existent. The hotel serves the same food the entire week. When booking Expedia wrongly mentioned it was close to the city center

The hotel is located outside of Oslo on top of a hill with amazing views. The parking is free. The breakfast is very diverse and served in a huge buffet style. The check-in was fast and efficient, too us 2 minutes to check in at reception. The hotel is very clean and spacious. The décor is not very modern but it looks aesthetically pleasant.

4 days skiing at Holmekollen

Used the hotel as our base for skiing at Holmenkollen / Skimore. Great location when the ski bus is operating, but only started driving after 10.00 in the morning. The hotel is 40 years old and it shows in certain areas as our bathroom was decent, but not renovated. Great views - Great beds and great new pool and sauna area, though you have to pay 200 NOK for adults and 100 NOK for children. The food options were limited and the menu had no more than 5 options for dinner. Breakfasts buffet had all the classics and all prepared like any other hotel at the same standard. It works, but will not be a meal to remember.

What a special place! I had an incredible stay. The staff (especially Mohammad in the reception) was SO helpful. There are beautiful trails, scenery, and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend staying here.

The quiet location was wonderful and the view from the terrace very nice as well. Unfortunately, I got very disappointed on the last day of my stay upon check-out time. As I had to check-out early, I asked the front desk 2 days before checking out, if it would be possible to get a box to pack my breakfast out, as I will not have the time to eat before leaving. The front desk personnel said they can prepare a breakfast box for me; which was great. On the day of check-out, the breakfast box was not ready; the front desk goes to check with the kitchen, and he comes back with a couple of croissant and a ham & cheese sandwich on a porcelaine plate; so I tell him I don't have the time to eat it now, that was why I asked for a box; then, with his bare hands that were just on the computer keyboard a couple of minutes ago, and he grabs the food, puts them in a plastic bag and hands it to me. I say "please look into why this happened", as I stopped by the front desk and called a couple of times to make sure this ware ready in time, and he responds, "well, what I picked up for you is nearly what you would have gotten in your breakfast box, so..."; I think he wanted to say "what is the problem? you should be satisfied?"
