This hotel is in a great area and easy to hop on the bus or train from. The staff were all fantastic! Best part is free breakfast, fika (afternoon coffee/tea), and dinner! Saves a ton of money in expensive Oslo.

Great weekend stay.

Lovely stay at hotel. Food both breakfast and evening meal was great. Reception staff in particular Celine were friendly, approachable and helpful with advice on Oslo. Will definitely stay again.

Oslo 2025 birthday trip

As a last minute trip to Oslo, the hotel fits into my budget and location was great. A nice 15 to 18 minutes walk from the central station and close to the city center. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great well positioned hotel

Great experience, the restored hotel is well positioned, with easy walking to everything.There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and coffee shop very close by. The added bonus was the light dinner which was very generous and tasty. The breakfast menu is a smorgasbord with a great variety of foods. Pastries were great each day.

Our friend recommended this hotel to us and we were delighted with our stay. Our room was spacious and well equipped. The buffet breakfast was particularly good. The half board arrangement works very well given the cost of eating out in Oslo. The location works very well as the harbour is short walk away and there are tram stops outside. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked a family room for us and our two Kids. Beds were ok and everything was very clean. Nice Rituals cosmetics in the bathroom. Very close to the City Center. Service and Food offers were Great. Rooms are ok but a bit noisy due to tram and Bars. Overall excellent for a one Night stay to enjoy Oslo. Would recommend it.

I had an enjoyable stay here. Desk staff was very nice and the room was small but clean. The entire hotel seems a bit dated but my room had a somewhat recently updated bathroom which was nice. I would, however, not suggest staying there Thursday-Sunday as there is a club across the street that plays INSANELY loud music until 3am. I’m usually a deep sleeper but the music kept me up most nights.

Hotel room was fine. Had a family room due to needing a second sleeping area and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Room also faced the courtyard and was very loud due to the number of times that the bar was throwing away trash and breaking bottles. Breakfast was ok and the lobby was very small. That said, the front desk staff was terrific and very helpful with answering our questions and providing help when needed.

Well. All in all a bad experience. Staff was nice, that was about it. Rooms are old. Breakfast only starts at 8:00AM (Not very accomodative to business travellers). The dinner was ok. All in all, there are so many better hotels out there for this price - First time I was disappointed by a Clarion

The hotel is a bit old fashioned, but very clean. Our room was very spacious. The noise from the street was very audible with both tram and trucks (sometimes quite early) making noise that would keep you awake if you are the kind of person to have trouble falling asleep. It is located close to metro station and is within walking distance to royal palace and theatres,opera and old castle. Breakfast was nice, but nothing in the way of biscuits or cake if you like some with your morning coffee. Pasi

The staff were very friendly during my stay, check-in and check-out was very straightforward. Unfortunately, the room was very cold, the radiator did not work properly and I was told there was nothing they could do about that. The room wasn't very clean (dust everywhere) and was very outdated in terms of decoration and layout. The evening meal option was very limited, and did not taste very nice. The breakfast was very lacking, I had some pancakes and jam but there was not much to choose from so I only had breakfast on one of the mornings of my stay. I don't think I would stay here again, for the price there are much better alternatives.

I love the area around the Clarion Hotel Savoy, but it is an aging property, and my room was not properly equipped when I arrived. While I had bath and hand towels, there was no bath mat. Even though the room is small, there was room for a hot water heater and mugs for drinking tea or coffee. Nor any tea or coffee provided guests. There was just a single glass. There was only one hanger on the pegs provided for clothes. Happily, the young man on reception the night I arrived (Henrik(?) so sorry, I'm terrible with names), was wonderfully accommodating. He found some hangers, apologied for not finding more than three, and found a bath mat, all of which he brought me. The staff had, in prior conversation, offered to set aside a dinner plate, as I didn't check in until 10 pm. The dinner plate was heated for me and was just right. I was very pleased with that service. The breakfasts are lovely, and the free dinner was also nice, though I might opt for eating elsewhere in future, to explore Oslo's offerings. I do love the area, and overall, once I settled in, except for there being no option to have coffee or tea in my room without first making a trek to one of the dining rooms, it was just fine.
