Old Town Ronda Holidays from AU$405

The hotel's location is fantastic, but it is uncomfortable no matter how you put it. They have different hallways with a set of 8 capsules per hallway. We got hallway #4 capsule #30, at least it was the bottom capsule. Each hallway has a private bathroom for the hallway plus there is communal bathrooms after all the hallways. Next to our room is a closet with an electronic lock to put your luggage. Inside the capsule you have a mirror and TV. You can't control the temperature yourself, only the air flow and if it's cold or hot you have to tell the front to adjust it for you and the other 7 capsules. In order to take a shower you have to (kind of) make a mess inside your capsule or outside in front of everyone, because there is no other way. When we returned to the hotel that night somebody had a mess all over the floor and the place smelled like dirty laundry. This hotel is for 1 or maybe 2 nights, no more. The staff were very helpful and courteous, but it doesn't compensate for the lack of comfort. We stayed the first night, but moved to another hotel after that since it was a 5 days stay.

Central location is spot on

Location wise the Ilunion hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from the town centre. This needs to be factored in if you are spending time in the town. The beach is also similarly 15-20 mins walk away. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the SoHo area. The property itself is clean and well maintained. It includes a pool and small fitness/spa area. We didn't have the hotel breakfast as there were alternative options nearby. Overall, a solid option for exploring Malaga without being in the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
