StoneHill Lawrence, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
8/10 Good
"We have stayed at this hotel many times as we have family in Lawrence. The hotel is fairly new having opened up about 8 years ago. It is clean and the staff are great! My one complaint is the shower. 1. It has a rainfall shower head without much water pressure which makes it so hard to rinse soap off. I have never understood the appeal of this type of shower head. It is also difficult to adjust without a step stool. 2. The glass wall for the shower is not wide enough to prevent water from getting all over the bathroom floor. The shower should be closed off a bit more to prevent this. 3. After a certain amount of time, hotels, in general, should address the caulk in the bathrooms. Every so many years if caulk is moldy or cracked, remove it and re-caulk. It isn’t that difficult and can greatly improve a shower.
Everything else about the hotel we appreciate and enjoy. We will stay there in the future due to location and cost is reasonable, just re-caulk the shower if it has mildew. It would be greatly appreciated!"
"It was a pleasant surprise from staying in cramped hotels. It was an apartment building turned into a hotel. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathroom. Which was a crazy find. No one had to share. The place was cool when the temps outside where hot humid and miserable. Staff helped us find a place to eat. We ate at the Red Robin. That was cool. it overlooked the city."
"Somehow, I ended up with a smoking room, and I don't ever book a smoking room. They did check to see. There were non smoking rooms available, so I did take it. The pillows smell like old musty washer machine, so I couldn't use the pillows and the room was overly smoky. Smell."
"The property was well located for my purposes. The room was clean. The exterior (windows) are apparently being renovated. Four wheel drive lifts were present and being used at the time of my stay. Unfortunately, they blocked the entrance most
suitable for access to my room. The parking area has deteriorating asphalt which definitely needs maintenance. Although there is no nearby restaurant, the in-house restaurant was not open for dinner. I would likely have used it, had it been available."
"We came into town from Ohio for a family reunion. This house was perfect for my children to have a Kansas experience. The host was very easy to communicate with and welcomed us with fresh farm eggs and corn. The house was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We even used the grill. I really enjoyed sitting outside both mornings and nights and listening to nature. We are planning on coming back next year."
