"We went to the Royal Sunset with 6 of our Tongan young friends who help us at a humanitarian clinic we work in. We are leaving Tonga and wanted to thank them for all they do. We decided to spend the night at the Royal Sunset. The rooms were filthy. The linens were stained and the rooms were unbearably hot. The pool water was brown. "This was a last minute booking made when our preferred booking was cancelled, after being confirmed more than three months earlier, apparently due to overbooking??? On arrival, the toilet was broken and dirty. The room wasn't secure as a window locking mechanism was broken. And, for most of our stay the internet wasn't available. And then, the controls for the television and the air conditioner were labeled in Chinese--awkward. The continental breakfast was minimal, and during our stay, had...

"I didn't get what I expected in booking a deluxe king room. The air condition didn't work, the TV didn't work, cupboards were broken, there was no mini bar stock in the fridge, no tea/coffee supplies, only the kettle. We were moved to a standard room and still the air con didn't work. The towels were not replenish the whole time we were there."

"Fantastic stay. very nice beach.....swim, snorkel right from hotel. The good: Location - I would rather stay at Vakaloa (30+ minutes from Nuku'alofa than the other way around. Beachfront - Sloped beach.... and coral, but sandy (crushed coral).... can walk barefoot Kayak - They were free to borrow Snorkeling - Free snorkel gear.
