Lovely place, host met us as we came in. Room was stalked with delicious goodies and fresh milk in fridge. A little tight to get to hotel but worth the drive up the mountain as the views are amazing. Convenient parking just up the road.

Carolyne was an excellent host. Meeting us at check-in and explaining the property. When she noticed we had mobility problems, she immediately asked if we would like to change to a downstairs room.The room was spotlessly clean, very good shower and plenty of tea, coffee makings and snacks. Parking was approx 50m away and no problem. Our host was available if we had any problems, of which we had none. The property is up a steep hill. My suggestion would be walk down (approx 12 minutes)and take a taxi back up (£5 approx). Overall a priceworthy and most enjoyable stay Only 1 problem, despite our best efforts, we were unable to detect any smell of pine, vomit, dampness or smelly dogs around mentioned in other reviews lol. Will definitely return if the host will have us.

Friendly, comfortable stay
I thoroughly enjoyed my one night at the guesthouse. The host could not have been nicer or more helpful. My room was great with nice touches of hospitality. The bathroom could use a little updating but nothing major—it all worked! Others have mentioned the steep uphill location, so I’ll just say, yes, it’s a climb. If you arrive with lots of luggage and don’t have a car, maybe get a taxi! But you end up on a nice quiet road with great views.

The room was cean and nicely decorated. Bar fridge with milk and juice. The bed was in need of being replaced (room #2) as extremely soft and we rolled into the middle. Needs towel bars or hooks in the toilet as no where to hang the towels.

The woman in charge was friendly and helpful. The location is relatively close to train station but at the top of a winding steep road. It is scenic but one would enjoy it more if you are not walking.

Very welcoming and cheerful owner. We ordered a breakfast which was brought to our room. Easy walk into town, though up and down a steep hill so some may find difficult. Car parking easy. We enjoyed our stay and would go again.

the room was comfortable. The bathroom was disappointing. The shower floor was soft underfoot and the water pressure was poor. The towels were not absorbent. Having said that the room was a reasonable price and was fine for our one night there.

Ran out of toilet paper with no extra any where in the room, terrible shower going from extremely hot to freezing cold and having to stand on the edge. Directions for breakfast are unclear so we didn’t get what we thought. Wifi didn’t work in our room. Bed was uncomfortable

lovely clean rooms. nice welcome on arrival.convenient for the ferry .. walking distance. however please note there is no parking at the guest house. however there is free off road parking at the view point up the road.

Great location, and cozy stay.
Our stay was wonderful, and our host was so helpful. She had breakfast in our room everyday, and the location was beautiful. One of our favorite stays by far! We were on our honeymoon, and out of all the cities we visited, Oban was our favorite.

Great Oban stay.
Good place to stay. Close to ferry port and town. Continental breakfast but much to choose from. Lovely host, Christine, was on hand for any help required. Would definitely stay here again.

About a ten minute walk to Oban and the ferry terminal. Breakfast is provided in your room with a decent selection of items to choose from. This location is within a five minute walk to Pulpit Hill. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Terrible travel lodging experience
Not sure about the rest of the reviews, maybe our rooms were the outlier or maybe the quality has deteriorated quite significantly recently. We (luckily) had a booking for 1 night only. We reached the guest house at night and checked ourselves in since it was after hours. As we entered the room, there was perceptible dampness in the room and we noticed seepage on the walls. It was night time and we were tired from our travels, so we decided to ignore it. That would be fine if that were the end of it. In the middle of the night, my legs started itching quite badly. I turned on the lights and both my husband and I sat up. He said he was having a hard time sleeping too because of the constant itching. That's when we realized the beds had bed bugs. We removed the bed sheets, turned the mattress over, spread out towels on the bed and slept off. We managed to get a few more hours of sleep before waking up to the clanking of dishes in the kitchen. We woke up, got dressed, picked up our bags and went down. We tried explaining to the lady owner about what had happened, but she kept insisting that nobody else had ever faced that problem before so she doesn't believe that's a problem (what?) She also said that the rooms are soundproof (clearly not) so we shouldn't have gotten disturbed. Basically, she outrightly denied everything we experienced. Anyway, no matter what she did it wouldn't help solve our matters so we decided to cut our losses and leave.

We had a little trouble finding the house but were pleased when we did so. The room was neat and clean as a pin. The food was excellent and I liked that you could choose from a menu the night before. The town was close by and you could walk to it.
