The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the rooms were adequate. However, the walls were thin, and noise was an issue throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our experience got off to a poor start with a front desk staff member who came across as condescending and arrogant. Another disappointment was the pool towel policy, which limited each guest to one towel. The pool attendants appeared to take advantage of this restriction by hinting that we should give them money if we wanted two towels each. This came across as unprofessional and tacky, and it left a negative impression. Thankfully, several outstanding team members helped make our stay more enjoyable. Prince from the entertainment team was helpful, friendly, and professional. I understand he was also the choreographer for the entertainment team, and his work was outstanding. The entertainment was clearly a highlight! Rolly Polly from the entertainment team always made us feel welcome, included, and part of the fun. Her warm and engaging personality made a real difference. Chevelle, Michelle, and Verron from the buffet restaurant were exceptional servers. They went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after, and their attentive, friendly service deserves special recognition. While there were some disappointments with the check-in experience and noise levels, the exceptional service provided by these team members made a positive difference. They are a credit to the hotel and deserve to be recognized.

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Lido for a week, Sept 15 - 22. We have been there over 15 times in the past. So sorry to learn of the destruction in late Oct 2025 from Hurricane Mellisa. The country and resorts are still getting back to normal. Understanding that our resort was still healing, we gave special leniency to the conditions and service. Our Butler service was excellent! Our room was clean and well stocked. The restaurants were not quite up to par with prior visits, but.... The buffet was attractive and inviting. (Some mornings, the bacon was burnt or almost raw.) Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Heartily recommend! Good experience and needy employees.

Royalton is a beautiful property, and the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the Hideaway adults-only section felt like an afterthought rather than the premium experience we paid for. Almost all the amenities were located on the main Royalton side, requiring lengthy walks. Hideaway had no dedicated buffet or proper dining area, meaning we had to share spaces with families and children. We specifically booked an adults-only resort for our honeymoon to enjoy a peaceful, romantic atmosphere, and that expectation was not met. The restaurants served good food, but the buffet lacked variety, especially during our midweek stay. The bars were not fully stocked, but we made do. Our room was not fully prepared upon arrival, although the initial issues were addressed promptly. However, our handheld shower broke on Wednesday night, and despite maintenance attempting repairs on Thursday, it remained broken when we checked out. This caused unnecessary discomfort and inconvenience during what should have been a relaxing honeymoon. The Hideaway side also lacked daytime activities and nightlife, making it feel rather boring. For an adults-only resort charging premium rates, we expected much more. Ultimately, Hideaway feels like an overpriced extension of Royalton rather than a true adults-only luxury experience. We had a wonderful honeymoon because we made the most of our time together, not because of what Royalton Hideaway offered. We will not be returning!
