The Cottage is a purpose built stand-alone 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house. It is nestled among the bamboo and trees in a garden setting on a 4.5 acre property. This home is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Relax on the large deck and soak up the sounds of nature. Guests have acces to the grounds and "On Burgum" Pond. It is a quick 2 minute drive to Maleny town centre or a 20 minute walk via Parkland Drive and the Maleny Trail.
The house provides a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The kitchen has brand new high end appliances, including a fridge, oven, stove top, microwave oven, dishwasher and coffee machine. There is ample cupboard and counter top space and the kitchen is finished off with wooden bench tops.
A small complimentary breakfast hamper is provided for your first morning - this could include seasonal fruit, bread, croissants, condiments, muesli, yoghurt, milk, orange juice, tea, coffee (pods and instant) and eggs.
Free Telstra ADSL WiFi is available and a television with DTV, Netflix and Stan is in the lounge area and the bedroom.
There is a wood burning stove in the living area and wood and kindling are provided. More wood and kindling is available in the holder in the carport.
The side wall of the living area is made up of two french doors that open up on to the large deck offering a panoramic view of the garden and surrounding valley and trees. A large ceiling fan ensures you remain cool no matter what the weather. There is a four seater table and a BBQ is available (please request).
There is the option of sofa bed in the lounge room. All linen will be provided.
The bedroom overlooks the resplendent Jacaranda tree, gardens and Macadamia trees through french windows. It has a remote controlled ceiling fan and a Queen bed with all linen is provided.
There is also a reverse cycle air conditioner in the bedroom, capable of cooling and heating the entire house.
The en-suite bathroom is accessed through the barn door and has a separate toilet, large rain shower, large vanity, bath and heated towel rail. Towels and amenities are provided.
Guests have their own private access driveway to the house through the carport to the right of the Main house garage. The driveway has lights for night time access. The COTTAGE car port is to the left of the drive, about half way down the drive.
Please note there is only parking for a maximum of 1 car.
Other Details to Note:
* A small complimentary breakfast hamper is provided for you which includes fresh-baked bread, croissants and danishes, seasonal fruit, Maleny yoghurt, muesli, butter, eggs, Maleny milk and orange juice. We also provide a selection of teas and coffee pods.
* Wood for the indoor fire is provided free of charge. In winter, the fire will be made up, the wood cradle filled and a bucket of kindling and some firelighters will be left. More wood is available in the cradle outside the front door.
* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks and we have a waste water treatment plant. The house has its own tank and the water is perfectly safe to drink (but may be discoloured).
* Small pets (less than 10kg) are welcome and there is an extra $25.00 charge per animal per stay. Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture. The property has a designated "wildlife corridor" for our local wallabies, possums, bush turkeys, etc. and as such is not fenced. Due to the native bird and wildlife on the property, dogs are not allowed outside on their own and preferably not off lead. We do ask that you not leave your dog at the home alone for long periods of time but understand that sometimes you have to for a couple of hours (e.g. going out to dinner).
