About this property
Unique houseboat rental with private dock and land on the historic Rideau River.
Enjoy this spacious houseboat by leaving it at the dock and treating it as your cottage and play on the nearly half-acre property. Have a campfire. Play frisbee. Try the kayak and paddle-board. Swim at the public beach directly across the river. Take a short drive to any number of beautiful small towns nearby, like historic Merrickville or Manotick or Kemptville. It's only 30 minutes to downtown Ottawa and the Parliament buildings, too. OR, take the houseboat for a cruise if you have a Pleasure Craft Operator's Card, which is easy to obtain if you don't have one already. Cruise for as little as $300/day off-season! There is no better way to see the region than from this UNESCO World Heritage waterway! See the historic Rideau Canal, and go through the still-hand-operated locks like it was 1850! There is no end to the possibilities! This property is friendly to pets under 50 pounds, with a maximum of two pets. A pet fee of $50 per stay applies.

This property is in a lovely location with some marvellous outdoor options. It is close enough to Ottawa to be able to experience all the area has to offer yet far enough out to find peaceful relaxation if you prefer. The houseboat is such a unique experience. The host is very helpful and personable.

Property was as described in the ad so no suprises. The host had a personal emergency but still made sure that we had what we needed and took the time to show us how everything worked. Would definitely go again. The area is very scenic being right on the river. Worth it.
The pictures don't do the property justice. When we arrived, we were so excited to stah on a house boat. The location was great easy to find. Its a great distance from town close drive but far enough away from the hustle and bussle. It is located near a road that the odd truck can be heard(we're from a big city so it didn't bother us and was quieter then we're use to) the water and scenery around was gorgeous, the first morning we woke up to a family of otters playing in the water my girls were in love. There was a paddleboard and kayak for our use which we used everyday. Trevor was very friendly and helpful during our stay and was very easy to get a hold of it we had any questions. We had amazing weather and enjoyed every part of our stay. Because it is near water(in water) there is lots of bugs so if your not a fan of bugs this is not for you, however with some big spray and access to inside we survived. It was great to get away from the hustle and bussle of the big city and connect with nature and hang out as a family with no distractions. Our girls had no wifi,tv,video games and not once did they complain they were bored. We had a great stay, great sleep and a great view. Next time we may try driving the boat.
truck could be heardsomeone's h but we
Trevor was very accommodating! We enjoyed watching turtles, ducks, muskrats, and even a heron! The boat was very cozy. We had a fantastic week of exploring Ottawa!
We had a fantastic stay and couldn't have asked for better weather. We came equipped with everything we could think of and we hardly needed any of it because most of it was already provided. Having the ice cream boat roll up to our dock to serve us was the cherry on top of the literal sundae, thanks again, Trevor!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the houseboat! We were in Ottawa bringing our son back to University and decided to extend our stay and enjoy a few extra nights and have a getaway weekend. Everything was spotlessly clean and in excellent working order. We had everything we needed to host a dinner on the dock with friends too. Thank-you
Such a cool rental! Whenever we went out on the water we got a lot of inquiries about the boat. The host, Trevor and his son, were so amazing! So helpful, instructive, patient and nice. I highly recommend this rental.
We had a wonderful time! The houseboat is super well equipped (everything we needed in the kitchen, life jackets, kayak, paddle board, games, etc.) and very comfortable. We were six adults and had plenty of room to move around and were able to sit around the table for meals and nightly cribbage games. The bathroom is full size and had no problems heating up the water in the hot water tank for showers using the battery/solar panel when we could not dock where there was electricity. We navigated to the top of Jones Falls without issues. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating, he took the time to explain all the features of the houseboat and answer our questions. It was a very pleasant experience allowing us to discover a nice area of the country.
The houseboat is a fun place to stay. Bedrooms are wall to wall bed with no room for luggage, but it IS a houseboat. One bed up in the loft so someone needs to climb the ladder. No air con but fans and open window cooled at night. Well equipped with dishes etc. Nice bedding. Could use some newer towels. Really clean. The host could not have been more accomodating. A pleasure to deal with. Would stay here again!
Séjour idylliques dans le confort avec des vues imprenables, nous avons adoré le lieu et le lodgement. Trevor a été un hôte parfait en nous montrant tout ce dont nous avions besoin. À refaire sans hésitation.
