"Tamas and his family were amazing hosts. I was travelling solo and arrived on Easter Sunday. When I go to the train station and nearby town, everything was closed. The host arranged for a taxi to pick me up, they drove me to and from dinner so I didn’t have to walk in the rain and then they drove me to see the Lascaux IV cave. "The area is beautiful and the building is very attractive. However, the corridors are gloomy and our bedroom, supposedly premium, can best be described as average. The swimming pool was clean and in good condition and there were plenty of comfortable sun loungers. We felt the room rate was higher than for comparable properties, particularly as breakfast was not included. Overall, rather disappointing."

"The gorgeous location of this ancient property is a real draw. However the modest cost of the accommodation is perhaps reflected in the rather basic room. It has everything one needs but is could do with a refurb. One of the main attractions of the establishment is the restaurant with its terrace overlooking the river below. The menu options are rather pricey and we felt the food was good but not outstanding. Service was fine and the owner of the hotel who is also around on reception as well...

The breakfast is not worth taking as it is not particularly tasteful. We were asked everyday if our our room needed to be done which was a bit odd. Not sure if the towels were indeed changed. "

"Service and location are great. We were there for just one day but were told we could enjoy the swimming pool the following day. You will find tennis tables outside. Breakfast was good. "Overnight stop on the way south. The hotel is ideally located close to the centre of Brive, the only issue is the parking but the receptionist was very helpful in advising us where to park. The hotel is clean and has been recently modernised. The bed was massive and very comfortable, there was also an excellent shower. The breakfast was good but lacked any fresh fruit. All in all a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff"
