"It is an old hotel but a very well kept hotel. The Japanese style rooms was a great experience for my friends and family. Amazing view from our rooms and throughout the hotel of Mount Fuji. Beautiful hostel grounds to walk around and very peaceful. "

"Our stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They also provide pajamas/loungewear, which were extremely comfortable and a nice extra touch. We loved having a balcony with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji, especially in the morning and at sunset. The onsen and public baths were relaxing, and we especially enjoyed the private onsens as well. The location was peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous scenery all around. I highly recommend taking advantage of the hotel shuttle service to get to and from Kawaguchiko Station, as getting Ubers was more difficult than not, especially for a larger group. The nearest FamilyMart and 7-Eleven are about a mile away, so the breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your stay. There was a wide variety of options, and it was a great way to start the day before heading out. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Honestly, this was the best stay of all the places we visited in Japan. We would definitely stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko again."

"I'm sorry to say that this experience was not at all what we expected. The lobby is beautiful, however the rooms show signs of significant deterioration (water damage). The bathrooms are old and use water from the hotspring - though commendable from an eco perspective this means smelly showers (sulfur) which is an unpleasant experience. The staff were very kind, however training needs improvement as the service was disjointed and awkward. Last but not least our "balcony" room overlooked the roadway and several dilapidated buildings used for staff parking. I can deeply appreciate the historical significance of the location, however the facilities are not worth the price and require significant investment to bring them up to standard. "

"Excellent experience for my whole family. We especially enjoyed the personalized service, delicious BBQ and breakfast, unique outdoor sauna, hand-ground coffee in room, excellent selection of unique & local fruity alcoholic beverages in the fridge, heated beds (so comfortable!), hammock, and strong air conditioning. "

"It was our fourth time at the hotel and the buffet always surprises us with new items on the menu. Everything was on point. "

"The sink wouldn’t drain and the shower flooded the bathroom. Breakfast included a styrofoam container with cold sandwiches and curdled yogurt. Roughly half of the igloos were damaged and held together with duct tape. "

"The staff was very unhelpful in difficulties we had around our booking, caused by major transportation disruptions beyond our control in Japan, and rude to my wife when she tried over 5 times to contact and remediate the situation. I would never recommend this as a '5 star, glamp' hotel. Service levels are 1 star. "
