"Fairly quiet end Mid April. Couldn’t figure out where the light switch for one of the lights and staff isn’t always around even during the day so it’s a bit tricky to get help. Almost everything is self served which is great but if you need help then it gets a bit tedious. Facilities are great and the location is also very convenient. Quiet, clean, and spacious. "Exceptional traditional ryokan if you want to relax in Hakone & Yugawara! The thoughtfulness and service of the staff was wonderful in every aspect. Rooms were supplied with traditional robes, comfortable sleepwear, onsen on our terrace and hot spring baths. Kaiseki cuisine was delicious, plentiful and presentation was over the top. This is a beautiful facility with an excellent staff. If you want to experience Japanese culture at its finest you need to come here. Our 4 day visit was perfect...

"This picture and the place have no connection. This is the picture of the nearby beach. The hotel is not located here. It's about a few minutes walk from the beach. It's better to put a real picture of the hotel. Also, the hotel does not have an elevator and the entrance is narrow. It's difficult to carry bags to the 4th floor without an elevator. Also no facilities for keeping your baggage. You need to pay coin lockers"

"The stay at Couscous was absolutely spot on! Beautiful glamping resort in the quiet town of Manazuru. It has good connection links to the main station if odawara. Perfect for exploring the Hakone region of Japan.
The tents were very well equipt with fans, heating, usb's. Outside there was incredible decking areas with BBQs, and a large table and chairs.
The site itself was extremely clean and the toilet and shower areas were always spotless and very modern.
Overall I would 100% recommend this as a place to stay for a bit of peace and quiet after touring Japan!

"We Americans stayed here for 2 nights. Highly recommended. Great cultural experience for those looking for an authentic ryokan in an older style building with communal bathing facilities. Japanese breakfast was really fun but I had little idea what I was eating. Go with an open mind! I was glad there were a couple of very helpful staff who spoke some English. Otherwise, it looked like all local Japanese guests there!"
"Million dollar view, but need some updates. Peeling wallpaper, stained doors, etc. No warm running water in room, have to travel to basement for shower. Very easy to hear those in hallways and next to you. Bedding and room itself was very clean. Just needs a few adjustments and would be an amazing traditional spot in a quiet town. "
