The Klithuset is a beautiful, old, and charming stone house,
with a stunning view of the forest all the way to the sea. Some days it’s so quiet—absolute stillness… on others, you can hear the sound of the waves, the wind rustling through the treetops; other than that, you don’t need anything else there to feel good and relax : ))
Through the small wooded area, consisting mainly of conifers, you can walk to the beach in just a few minutes. The beach has very fine, white sand and is perfect for a stroll. The horizon stretches so far to either side—it’s fantastic.
All the rooms, without exception, are individually decorated with pictures and objects, some of which are very old or antique—such as a nostalgic scale in the kitchen or the wonderfully beautiful doorknob at the entrance, which has surely been there forever. Everything is lovingly and harmoniously arranged—no run-of-the-mill collection of matching decorative items ; )
Each bedroom has a small sink, and all the old, multi-paned windows offer a view of nature. The large main room downstairs, with its open-sided kitchen, is a place where you can gather to eat or play; to settle in for a good read; or simply to enjoy the view and—if you’re lucky—spot a deer roaming through the woods! The patio door opens directly onto the beach; there are plenty of chairs, benches, and lounge chairs to make yourself comfortable and relax. The upstairs room has windows all around, a cozy sofa, and a hanging chair—it’s another oasis where you can read or sit together.
The entryway keeps dirty shoes and sand from the beach out of the living area—which is very practical—and the toilet, as well as the large bathroom next to it, are, like the rest of the house, beautifully and functionally designed. There’s a very large storage area, so even four people will find plenty of space for their towels and toiletries.
You can also reach the beach via the forest trails that start right in front of the house—it only takes a few minutes to get there. You don’t need a car; everything is easily accessible on foot or by bike. The supermarket isn’t far, nor is the nearest little shop selling ice cream and chocolate marshmallow treats!
You can also get to the nearest small town quickly—there’s a bus stop…which provides good access for visiting sights outside the area. It’s definitely worth taking a closer look at this little island. The bike paths are second to none, and you can almost always see the sea!! Wonderful. The people are friendly and helpful; there are often small stalls set up along the path in front of the houses. We all really liked this “street vending”—you put your money in a jam jar and take a jar of honey, a zucchini, or a book in return! Things can be that simple. And everywhere—really, everywhere—there are restrooms that are always open and always clean.
In front of the house is a garage with canoes, SUBs, and other “water gear”—I’d love it if the tenant could use these.
All in all, there’s nothing to complain about.
