Beautiful, unique hotel in a great location - right next to the Cliff Walk and the beach - beautifully maintained, and very clean. Great indoors and outdoors restaurants, including famous Cara. Outstanding service - we were treated like royalty. Can't wait to go back.

Great views, great location and incredibly well trained and friendly personnel , both on the front desk, valet and restaurant. Room is super charming and well appointed. On the negative, although the room heater was off the residual heat coming from it did not allow me to shut off the AC which was not a big deal since it was quiet but still Also perhaps a bit pricey, it should include breakfast for that cost.

Amazing stay, highly recommend

From the moment we checked in we felt well taken care of. The staff is extremely attentive and makes your stay so special. The room was beautiful, clean and we loved the decor. Breakfast was a major highlight at the hotel each morning (not included in price) but well worth it. Block island room comes with a personal sauna and hot tub. Both were very clean. They also offered the hotel car to take us to the downtown Newport area, but we walked every time we went which was a one mile easy walk one way.

We have absolutely nothing negative to say about The Chanler! What a beautiful hotel right on the Cliff Walk. The staff was the best we’ve encountered in our many travels. Our room was spotless each day. We will definitely go back the next time we visit Newport.

We have stayed at a lot of properties in Newport, but I would rate the chandlers staff as by far the best. We chose to stay on property most of the time and enjoyed getting to know Ray, Paige, Kevin, Julia, our waiter from both nights and the night lady who took over from Paige. They all went out of their way to make us comfortable and took great care of us during our time.

The Chanler was one of THE nicest places we have ever stayed. The staff certainly was THE nicest staff with whom we have ever stayed. A gorgeous property overall, a spectacular but warm and charming room, a staff that couldn't do enough for us. Christina was superb. From carrying our luggage up two flights of stairs, to bringing us blankets at the firepit, They anticipated our every need and helped us in every way possible to enjoy ourselves.

This was an amazing experience! Exceptional property and service. Definitely a Five Star location, located along the famous Cliff Walk, right on the ocean! We stayed in the French Provincial room which had amazing ocean views. The room itself was flawless and beautiful, heated floors in the super large bathroom, everything was sparkling clean. We felt pampered from the moment we arrived until our departure. The staff was amazing, including Hannah, the maitre-de, to Craig, our on-staff driver, who took us into town. Everything was first-class, including breakfast with expert waitstaff, delicious food, and ocean views. We will be back!

loved the location and view the courtyard needed some minor upkeep, some chipping paint and mold overall lovely spot Please note that the hot tub temp was too hot at 104 degrees, much more comfortable and safe when we decreased it to 100 Staff was wonderful and very accomodating.

The Chanler is a very nice place. Although for what you get it is very over-priced. The rooms are great, the grounds are great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There just aren't enough of them. The bar is understaffed as was the breakfast wait staff. It shouldn't take 90 minutes for breakfast. The bar closes at 9 so don't plan on coming back from dinner and having a drink outside to listen to the waves if it's past 9, unless you brought your own wine. Having a drink outside in the afternoon requires you to order directly at the bar. These are all minor inconveniences but for the cost of a room in the summer, it's just not worth it. Stay downtown, walk to everything, and have many more options.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome, delicious sparkling wine, and a quick tour of this magnificent place. We booked “The Renaissance” room, which is not only the largest but also the BEST room. The view was exceptional! Waking up to the delightful sunrise was a highlight. The room itself is spacious, bright, and elegantly fit for royalty. I highly recommend booking dinner at the restaurant inside The Chanler. The food is absolutely divine! The memorable meals, including the Wagyu steak I had, were so outstanding they earned a core memory. Our waiter, Alex, and another gentleman were so knowledgeable and funny, making the experience magical. I also highly recommend getting in-room spa treatments from Sarah and Jen, they are truly wonderful and experts at their craft. The hospitality of this majestic hotel is unforgettable. I highly recommend experiencing The Chanler at Cliff Walk. Thank you so much to the stupendous staff.

Great property - friendly welcome with a glass of wine. Room decor wonderful. Breakfast food was excellent - Michelin quality with super service from Christine. Valet service efficient and friendly.
