  • "BALBOA SEA ESCAPE" (10% Weekly Discount) Beach and Bay are a block away. "GARAGE PARKING" for a "SUB COMPACT Car". "AIR CONDITIONING" Located between Newport and Balboa Piers this mid Century 4 unit building on West Balboa Blvd Is perfect for short walks to either Pier and many fine restaurants, as well as the Balboa Ferry and the Catalina Flyer. This Studio apartment has a new shower with barn door, granite counter tops, stainless appliances with dishwasher. There is a comfy queen size captain's bed with storage underneath and ample closet and drawer space. Side tables are laptop tables to provide a workspace. Amenities include Smart TV, Cable, free Wifi, coin op washer and Dryer, there is a gas BBQ with table and chairs on a shared patio space. Beach chairs are provided and stored in the garage with the laundry. This is a ground floor unit. There is a small bathroom with a small shower. Quite hours are very important. No Animals allowed on property due to allergies. City Short term rental permit SLP 13795

Perfect place to stay on the peninsula. The home is super clean with all the amenities to cook while you're there, lots of beach toys to use, laundry on site and garagevparking is a plus. Hosts were great and answered quickly when we had questions. Will definitely stay again.

Great quiet getaway.

The place was well stocked with everything you need for a vacation rental. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and just a short walk to the beach. The management was super responsive. We’ll definitely rent with them again.

Our stay was perfection! Lovely small cottage/apt, had everything we needed. Comfy bed, fully-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the patio for our breakfast and coffee. Used the grill and kitchen. Will definitely use this one again :)

Cozy one-bedroom close to beach and restaurants

This property was clean and exactly as listed. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with necessities. The shared patio was a nice bonus with a large table, chairs and umbrella. The only small challenge was parking. The garage only fits a small vehicle, and we had an SUV so we had to search for street parking nearby, which can be difficult on weekends. Loved the proximity of the beach, board walk and all the restaurants. We parked our vehicle and walked practically everywhere.

I Want To Go Back!

Cute, beachy and with everything you need for the beach. Older unit but modernized with all the comforts of home. Perfectly situated to the beach (ocean & bayside), restaurants, etc. I will definitely stay there again. Enjoyed 4 mile beach walks each morning and night and didn’t want to come home. Parking wasn’t bad either and my car was parked for days. I just paid attention to the street sweeping signs as they directed. Responsive owners were so helpful and nice when I couldn’t find my email!

Great Location and lovely apartment

The apartment was very clean and very well equipped. the unit was quite I did not hear any noise from the neighboring units. It met the description on the website. The location was great. A block off the beach and many nights we walked to the Naples Pier for dinner. The location is really nice because you are between the two piers but it is a quiet sweet spot. If you like to walk there is the ocean side and the bayside which are both beautiful. Lovely. Would highly recommend.

Cozy Haven In A Perfect Location

Balboa Sea Escape exceeded all my expectations. Every detail was thoughtfully considered and made for a lovely stay. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bed was super comfortable, parking was convenient (the garage is indeed small even for a compact car so I parked there once and then there was easy street parking the rest of the time), and the location was perfect for exploring the area by foot or by car. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe and at ease. Communication with the owners was easy and helpful. It's a beautiful space with a cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. Five stars!!!

I liked the beach accessibility close by within walking distance, the ability to drive a short distance and cook in the fully equipped kitchen, the comfort of the bed, and having beach chairs and beach towels and beach umbrella provided to take to the beach for the day. The bathroom tiled shower was great, except that you had to take the spray nozzle off the shower head to use. The garage was small, but allowed us to put our small car in the garage during street cleaning days! There were thin walls, so it caused people to hear someone talking next to them in the adjoining unit. The small couch and chair were leather and were comfortable, except excessive use causes the person to slide forward. It was hard to use the covered patio table & chairs - which was very nice - because four units shared the same space!

Clean but small

Balboa Sea Escape was very clean and easy to find. Parking is as too tight for our car and we didn’t have an oversized car. We had to park on the street out on Balboa Blvd. Bed was comfortable and the AC worked great. Well stocked kitchen and close to the beach. Looking at the pictures I thought it would be closer to the beach and on the beach side of balboa but it is on the bay side. It’s a short walk across balboa Blvd and comes out right by the school and basketball courts. Bathroom is VERY small and tight but we made it work. Would rent again for a quick short trip but would want more space for a longer stay. We weee there from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. I did have to be the one to reach out for information on checking in less than 48 hours before check in since I hadn’t heard from the host. Overall a great rental.

Nice little apartment for two - Review of Apt B

Pros * Location, Location, Location - within walking distance to both piers, lots of stores and restaurants, and just across the street from the beach! * Very clean * Comfy bed - slept great! * Nice and very well stocked kitchen - we would have appreciated more than two packets of coffee for a 5-night stay but it held us over until we could buy coffee. * The outdoor patio and table is a nice place to have morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. * This apartment set back from the street which is nice. Cons * Sound - overall quiet but at night I could hear snoring and coughing from Apt B as well as phone notifications. There is sound from Balboa Blvd as well but it subsides at night. * Figuring out how to get the mini-split heating/cooling system set right (even with the instructions) but we did and were then comfortable. * Sofa isn’t the most comfortable but worked for us. * The description of a very small shower is accurate. It worked for me (5’4”, 130lb) and my husband was alright (5’11”, 185) but if you are a very large person, it will quite cramped. * The interior of the bathroom medicine cabinet could use some attention and the paint is beginning to peel off the bathroom door and walls. I only had one communication with the property manager while we were there and they responded immediately. We would definitely stay here again!
