  • This giant 13th-century sandstone abbey stands along the picturesque River Wye. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536 the lead roof was sold off and the Abbey lay neglected for 200 years. The Abbey was "rediscovered" in the 18th century and became a haven for artists and poets.

A great place to stay for a peaceful & relaxing break.

A great place to stay for a peaceful & relaxing break. The Cider Barn has everything you could want - comfortable bed, great shower & lovely outdoor space to relax in. The hosts are friendly & very helpful with suggestions of things to do & places to see. Great walks from the door although some footpaths are rather over grown. Highly recommend Westbury Court Gardens NT & the Sculpture Trail

Lovely barn to stay in

We arrived a little early and was met by the owners. On entering the barn we were not disappointed it was lovely, fresh and clean. There was a welcome pack which was very thoughtful. The owners were very informative and we're on hand if we needed them, however we didn't need to bother the owners as everything was perfect. Really enjoyed our stay

Fantastic stay

We stayed for 3 nights in mid March and had a wonderful stay. The house was comfortable, and warm and had everything we needed. The log burner was a key feature for us and we appreciated the first fire had been laid ahead of our arrival. They were really accommodating of us and our 2 year old son. Waking up to alpacas outside the window each morning was a lovely added bonus. Plenty to do nearby. Family friendly walks and cycle trail within 15 mins drive.
