We were two families, 4 adults and 5 children ages 14-6, traveling together to visit Ireland and to see friends and family living in the Ennis and Limerick area. This was a great location as our base. We were able to enjoy cooking breakfasts each morning then spending days exploring wonderful areas, before returning to relax in the evenings. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, and worked very well for us. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Family Time
Our vacation consisted of 2 families, 5 adults and 4 children. The home was very comfortable for all of us. And had all the comforts of home. Amazing home
This home was perfect for my family. The location provided easy access for all of the locations we wanted to visit. The house has everything a family could need and a great layout that not only provides areas we could gather as a family but also plenty of space for my wife and I as well as our teenage children to have their privacy. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to stay near Limerick and explore western and southern Ireland.

Comfortable Home in the Country
We had a wonderful time staying at Gillian's property in Newmarket on Fergus. It was very quiet and comfortable for our family group of eight. The house is equipped with all the necessities and quite a few extras. Communication with Gillian was great prior to and during our stay. The house is close to Bunratty Castle and the Quin Abbey (built in early 1400's). The town of Ennis, about 20 minutes away, has shopping, great restaurants & nightlife. It is a relatively short drive to Cliffs of Moher & Doolin as well as the ferry to the Aran Islands. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Ireland.

Wonderful and quiet
A lovely peaceful place to stay. As said by other reviewers the photos don't do it justice and are a bit dated. It's more relaxing staying in a family home than a pristine luxury place. There was no shortage of crockery or cutlery and other items you'd expect. The only slight disappointment is that you have to drive to the nearest place to eat. But this is more thanmafe up by the location. Access to the Lough is a very short walk and the children had took great delight in pond dipping there. The garden is a delight and we all enjoyed playing hide and seek. A lovely place to stay.

Relaxing family vacation in a beautiful area
We had a fantastic holiday here. The house has lovely views of the lake and is positioned in a nice area. The house was clean and big with 4 rooms with double beds and 1 room with 2 single beds. The beds are super comfy. The kitchen has everything you need. The property is only a few minutes from Newmarket on Fergus that has a shop and a few restaurants. The larger towns (Ennis, Shannon) are only 15-20 min away.

Cozy country home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend. The lake is beautiful and the ruins of the church down the street made for a lovely after dinner exploration with the family. It is a very picturesque and peaceful place. There are also several things to do nearby. We visited Limerick, Bunratty Castle, the Bronze Age village (craggonouen?) Quinn Abbey, Ennis and the Cliffs of Moher. The home is a bit dated, but very comfortable. Really, it only added to the ambience. A few things broke, but the host was AMAZING and so helpful and kind. We really loved staying here. It was very homey, and cozy, and we had lots of big family dinners and cozy nights in the living room with the fire. There were even a few toys lying around for my 3 yo daughter to stay entertained. And the big TV had all the channels and subscriptions you could want, and most importantly my daughters favorite show. Thanks to the host for a lovely stay. Highly recommend.

We loved the location since we rented a car and we could reach all of our desired sites to visit in < a 2 hr drive any direction for our day trips. Plenty of room and things to do to keep the kids busy. We'd recommend it greatly!

We were a group of aerialists attending a training week close by, the house could not have been more kitted out. Everything we looked for was there, it was really a home away from home. We have already recommended this place as somewhere to stay to our friends who regularly need a place to stay.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay, it was an excellent base for so many places. We created some wonderful memories in this house that will be cherished and talked about for many years to come! A wonderful stay
Gillian was an excellent host. We had several questions ( also because of covid) and she responded always right away. The house is lovely and very spacious, perfect for a family. It is in a very quiet area. We could see a lake when we sat outside. Gillian gave us excellent directions and we had an easy time finding the house. There are also many brochures at the house with great information about day trips in the area. Thank you, Gillian. We had a wonderful stay.

Great clean house offering all you need to enjoy your stay!!! From towels through shower gels tea, coffee and umbrellas. Very nice peaceful neighborhood. Place is much better that photo's show and close to all Clare attractions. I highly recommend the place.

Our family loved staying at Fenloe. This property is charming, spotless clean and has everything you might need. The garden is especially great for children. The photos online don’t really do this house justice. One of the best holiday houses we have ever stayed at!

We loved this house, with all its amenities, comfort, and gorgeous surroundings. The only drawback might be that it is not in walking distance of shops and restaurants. However, its country location was really nice to come back to after a day of sight-seeing. The only regret we had was that we didn't have more days to spend here.

Stop looking & Book this place!
The house ... the pictures don't do it justice! We LOVED the house so much! We wanted to be away from big cities and tourists and this is it! We loved exploring Quinn, Ennis and of course Newmarket-on-Fergus! Take a walk down the street and you'll find an amazing old ruined church. The location is great, close enough to the major highways and easy to get to major sites. Cliffs of Moher, Ferry to Aran Islands. However still in a little town, that had everything we needed. Gill is a fantastic host, so easy to communicate with and quick to answer any and all questions! Loads of information for guests in the home which we found so helpful! This was our first time traveling abroad from the States, so I was a little nervous but every night coming back to this place was great getting back ' home'! Staying here made our visit to Ireland that much more special and memorable! Thank you Gill for this great place!

Lakeside retreat with the lot...
This property was breathtaking, the views incredible and the location so quite. This property had everything and then some, it felt like home. Our host had thought of everything comfort warmth, space and entertainment. Our kids had a ball running around the backyard and playing the huge variety of board games, and the large spacious kitchen with a wood burner was just what we needed to reconnect and recharge for the next adventure. The location of this place was close enough to a small village to gather supplies, not to mention close to the amazing living past of Craggaunowen and Quinn Abby tavern which has delicious family meals, so good we went there twice. This is a beautiful slice of country lakeside living, thank you for our stay.

A Great Centrsl Location and all the amenities you could want.
The property is a lovely large home overlooking Lake Fenloe. We had a wonderful time, as we all had our own room (5 women), but could congregate in the kitchen and lounge to watch tv. oring the west, ring of Kerry, Ring of Doyle, Cliffs of Moher. Grocery stores are close and there are wonderful pubs in the village. The people of the village are friendly and helpful. Gillian is a great hostess, and if there is a problem she is on it immediately, I would recommend this location.

Great House Close to Shannon Airport
This house was a great base for day trips in this region of Ireland. It is literally only 12 minutes from the airport. We did the Cliffs of Moher (stop into the Moher Cottage for the best Cappuccino, and a beautiful view on their back patio), Castles, The Latin Quarter in Galway and drove to Dublin. Dublin was a little less than two hours on the Motorway. We parked at the Red Cow and took the LUAS into the city proper. Of course the Guinness Storehouse Factory was in order, and was a great time. As for the house, very comfortable and super clean with plenty of towels. Your host Gillian is always a phone call, text or email away and will return your contact very quickly and solve whatever problem that might arise. Our only problem was with the wifi one evening and she got it fixed extremely quickly. There is a very thick folder in the kitchen with tons of info on the local area. The Weavers Inn in Newmarket on Fergus has awesome food and quite possibly the best Sticky Toffee Pudding in Ireland. And stop in to O'Neills Pub for the best Guinness in town. Ann is a sweetheart and will make you an awesome Irish flag shot! These establishments are only 5 minutes from the house. All in all an outstanding place to stay.

We stayed at the cottage recently with our young children while in Ireland attending my brother’s wedding. Amazing location, spacious cottage with everything we could need. Very easy to find, following the owner’s helpful guidance. The wedding was at Dromoland Castle, so the cottage was perfectly located; no more than and easy 10min drive away. Shops easy to access in Newmarket-on-Fergus only a few mins away by car. Warm, comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend this cottage. The owner’s communication has been fantastic at every stage. Many thanks!

Lovely spacious home in the beautiful Irish countryside
We loved this home and the location. The grounds were beautiful with such a wonderful view of the lake. The house itself was spacious with very comfortable beds. We loved the surrounding villages and pubs; so quaint and historic. It was a great location for exploring county Clare. We felt like we truly lived in the Irish countryside for 8 days.
