Incredible backcountry mountain biking can be experienced from the house, same for great road cycling with the infamous 181 climb. The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than five miles away and you are about 20 minutes from the Banner Elk ski slopes.

Guests will have full and private access to the entire cottage and its surrounding property during their stay. A seamless self-check-in process allows you to start your vacation without delay. For your security, a camera is located on the exterior of the front door and is only accessed if a problem occurs.

Welcome to Sitting Bear Cottage, a cozy retreat nestled among thick rhododendrons on the edge of the magnificent Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. Inspired by travels to the French Alps, our cabin features warm wood touches and a rustic design that invites you to relax and unwind.

The heart of the home is the great common space, where the kitchen, living room, and sunroom flow together seamlessly. Settle into the comfortable leather furniture by the wood-burning stone fireplace, or enjoy the forest views through panoramic windows. The bright sunroom opens onto a spacious new deck, perfect for your morning coffee.
