Your feedback is important to us, and with this, in mind, we passed your feedback to the owner which they responded with the following: "I categorically refute this outrageous review. With regard to the decor of the flat, I specifically refer you to the wording of the listing 'It is furnished with a mix of antique and new pieces, decorated traditionally, accessorised with paintings and feature lighting, a new kitchen and 42" TV. There are also 18 pictures on the website that show every aspect of every room in it’s present scheme of decor, so they very certainly knew exactly what they were getting in advance. It has recently been newly decorated to my taste. If the guests did not read the listing properly and arrived expecting modern decor, that is their own fault. The flat is very regularly aired and thoroughly cleaned and sanitised as often as it is occupied, but at least once a week if not. I believe on this occasion guests the previous night may have cooked a strong curry, and it is sometimes difficult to completely rid a property of cooking odours within the short space of a turnover. As someone who has lived locally for almost 50 years, I utterly dispute the ludicrous assertion that the flat is in an undesirable area!!! The property is on the edge of suburban Newcastle with expansive views over open fields and woodland. These were guests from out of town, so they were not well placed to offer opinions on local geography and socio-economics." Kind Regards, TravelNest Team
