An historic building but its well maintained. Cleanliness was good, food was good. Easy walk to everywhere in Newcastle (& we're over 70). Love the atmosphere, comfy beds & pillows! Easy booking & friendly staff gave excellent service. Nothing was a problem, everything explained. Only improvement would be better towels. Great memories,thanks!

As beautifully renovated pub, the rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The location is fantastic for walkability to the beach, the city, local walking paths,and public transport. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful for anything you ,might need. The underground cocktail bar is a particular treat, and for the price, this is a really great stay for a weekend away from Sydney to see the sights of Newy!

In general the place is not very clean. The carpet was very dirty. We found the brown insects dead in the bedroom and some others appeared during the night. The room was well equipped and staff was friendly.
