With three bedrooms and space to sleep up to eight guests, this is a relaxed and practical home base for families, groups of friends, beach getaways, longer stays and weekend escapes. The home combines modern comforts with the character and warmth of a traditional Merewether cottage, with plenty of natural light and thoughtful touches throughout.

The heart of the home is the modern, fully equipped kitchen, making it easy to enjoy breakfast at home, prepare a family dinner or settle in for a longer stay. Beautiful skylights fill the home with natural light, while ducted air conditioning keeps you comfortable year-round.

There are three bedrooms, comfortably accommodating a variety of group configurations. Two bedrooms feature queen beds, while the third has a king single with a trundle, making it particularly versatile for families. There is also a sofa bed in the living area for additional guests.

For those working remotely, a dedicated workspace provides a comfortable spot to catch up on emails or work while you're away.

Outside, the private patio is a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee, unwind after a day at the beach or gather together in the evening. Enjoy strip heaters, and an outdoor kitchen. The front courtyard also features secure, lockable storage cages for bikes and surfboards — ideal for guests wanting to make the most of Newcastle's incredible coastline and cycleways.

    And then there’s the location.

Merewether Beach is just moments away, putting Newcastle’s spectacular coastline within easy reach. Spend the day swimming, surfing or relaxing on the sand, take a dip at the famous Merewether Ocean Baths, or walk along Bathers Way and take in the incredible coastal views.

The Junction is also close by, with an excellent selection of cafés, restaurants, pubs, bars, boutique shops and everyday essentials. You’ll have everything you need for a great coffee, relaxed breakfast, dinner or drinks without having to travel far.

For a classic Newcastle experience, head to Merewether Surfhouse for food and drinks overlooking the ocean, wander down to the beach for sunset, or explore the coastal walking tracks connecting Newcastle’s beautiful beaches.

There are also plenty of nearby parks and open spaces for families, while Glenrock and Newcastle’s wider coastline are easily accessible for those wanting to explore further.

Free on-street parking is available around the property, making Vida Merewether a convenient base if you’re arriving by car.

Just beyond the sand are the iconic Merewether Ocean Baths — the largest ocean baths complex in the Southern Hemisphere — and the start of Newcastle’s spectacular Bathers Way coastal walk, which winds approximately 6km along the coastline towards Nobbys Beach.

The Junction is also just moments away, giving you an excellent choice of cafés, restaurants, bars, pubs, boutiques and everyday essentials. For an easy local meal or drink, you’re surrounded by popular Merewether favourites including Burwood Inn, Junction Hotel, The Prince, and The Beach Hotel.

The nearby Burwood & Glenrock area also offers walking trails, picnic spots and plenty of opportunities to explore the natural side of Newcastle.
