Perfect stay
Firstly we had a great stay, everything was perfect, the children loved to pirate themed room. It was a shame we didnt get to spend more time here as we used it to sleep and change to much tto do and see. The bad part now. we left everything as found, the host claims we left spill damage all over the place and has to have everything upholstered, they provided photos as evidence of the damage which is a joke. Non of said evidence was present when we left. We are honest people if we left any damage i would of contacted the host immediately to inform them. Absolute shame at the behaviour ofmthe host was such a nice place to stay. They also claim to have contacted us about this but the only message i received was from vrbo saying we are being charged a damage fee. What a shame

It's always great when guests tell us we have such a nice place to stay. We're glad the children loved it and that everything was perfect. It is sad on the very odd occasion when we have to let guests know that our only house rule 'leave the place as you found it' hasn't aligned. Having hosted now for the past decade, on this occasion we could not accept the spillages as 'fair' and, having adhered strictly to the VRBO complaints procedure, we presented you with our photographic evidence, date and time stamped to within an hour of your departure. We appreciate that on busy, family holidays things might get overlooked, but to say that these things were 'not present when we left' suggests that we have somehow manufactured them which is quite frankly absurd. :-(

Third visit says it all
This house is outstanding. Elaine caters for everyone especially children and as we know when the kids are happy the adults can relax. We have stayed for the third time last weekend , it is such a central area with a beach minutes away also. We will be back certainly.

Amazing late summer break by the beach
This property is perfect for a break on the Northumberland coast. The location. is ideal - so near the beach and Elaine has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We would highly recommend and would certainly stay again.

Lovely "Bolt Hole by the Beach"
We enjoyed a delightful stay in this quiet home just a short walk from the beach. Be aware that there is a steep stairway up to the two bedrooms and WC.

Back Again
Obviously we rated the accomodation very highly as we returned for a second visit within 6 months. The house is well situated 43seconds from the sea. Counted by my husband and grandson. Very well equipped, Elaine has thought of everything. The second bedroom was a delight for my grandson and us with a pirate theme and toys. Newbiggin is a nice town with an extensive beach and walking areas. We will return.

Great Property
We stayed at the property for two days while sight seeing in the north east on our way back to the south of England from Edinburgh. The property was immaculate and Elaine was a fantastic host. It is particularly good for families with small children as Elaine has thought of and provided everything they could need.

New years break
This is a beautiful little terrace house in a very quiet area with a few minutes walk to the beach/sea. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped with games, books etc. This is a perfect place for a break. Totally recommend.

Super Seaside Stay
could not recommend this accommodation more. We were a mixed family group from 2years old, his Daddy and Grandparent. Elaine had provided a range of good quality toys e.g. Fisher Price Pirate ship which our grandson loved. The house was clean and comfortable with everything you could need. The area was a short walk to the lovely town and the beach was only minutes away. Could not recommend this accommodation more and Elaine was easily contacted if needed .

A week in Newbiggin by the sea
Wow what a fantastic holiday we’ve just had with our two grandchildren! The house was brilliant, so clean and cosy and with EVERYTHING we could possibly need!! 3.45 minutes to walking on the beach, timed by the grandson! A lovely clean beach, soft sand, clear water and rock pools which kept us happy till sunset!! Easy access to plenty of things to see and a wonderful host who was available to us with ideas. Great house, lovely beach and rock pools. Super for a family.

Extremely relaxing
Ideal for families, we loved this location, as it was an easy commute to surrounding areas. So much provided in the house, especially the toys and games for the kids, much thought has gone into this, and my boys loved every minute. Much thanks to the host Elaine and also to the very friendly local community . One of the best family friendly holidays we’ve had.

Lovely jubilee break
House was lovely, our boys loved the toys and DVD collection. Beaches very close visited 3 and was nice to just walk out the door to the local beach. We ate in every night, kitchen well equipped for this. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable, nice and quiet at night. Thanks for a lovely stay

Peace and tranquillity
We had a fabulous week, in a fabulous town and a fabulous property. Everything we needed was there, extremely comfortable, warm and everything brilliantly clean. Everything worked, great shower, comfortable bed and a real credit to Elaine the owner. Also excellent value for money. I would fully recommend this to both couples and families. Fabulous Bolt Hole
The property is beautifully clean, tastefully furnished and decorated and provides everything you need, including games and toys for children. It is located one road back from the beach front, 2 minutes walk and near enough to hear the waves. The village is small with a couple of shops for provisions and take aways but easy driving distance from the lovely towns of Amble, Warkworth, and Alnwick. We had a lovely four days here 😊

A lovely property located a stone’s throw away from the beach. Great base to explore Northumberland. Very quiet residential area with friendly locals. The property had all amenities you would need for a family holiday let. Elaine was very thoughtful and quick to respond to queries. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Home from home
Perfect coastal cottage 2mins from the sea front. Peaceful with only the sounds of the sea to wake up to. Friendly locals, fantastic value on food and drinks and a great base from which to explore the beautiful Northumberland coastline. I hope to return soon.

Great base for exploring Northumberland
A lovely, clean house with everything that we needed for a short, quiet get-away. There was loads to do within the surrounding area and we particularly enjoyed Lindisfarne/Holy Island, Seahouses, Whitley Bay, Newcastle and Dunstanburgh Castle. After a busy day out and about, Newbiggin (and Elaine's house) was the perfect setting to return to and each evening we all enjoyed a walk along the beach before returning to the house for supper and a few games before bed.

I could not find fault with this place. I'm easily please but great house great location.
On arriving we were very happy with the home. The owner was very rapid in replying to any messages. It was a nice surprise to find things in the home such as, a little milk, sugar shower gel. We didn't need it but that I thought was a lovely kind touch. It's very close to the beach and it was lovely to just wake up and pop down there.

Very comfortable and clean property. Everything worked as it should and plenty of space. The booking process was simple with an owner who clearly cares about customer service. If you want a good value getaway which is only 2 minutes walk to the sea - this ticks the boxes.

Clean, modern and welcoming
The holiday home was clean, well cared for and the decor made for a relaxing stay. The kids loved the pirate themed bedroom with all the games to play. It made for a lovely base to explore the area. We all enjoyed our stay and would return another time.

Grand wee place just seconds from the beach. Recommended
Situated on a quiet back street just yards from the beach this was the ideal place for a small family get away. We didn't always have the best weather, but the property made up for that and the pirate themed kids room was great for our 3 year old.

Wonderful little bolt hole!
Wonderful little bolt hole which was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Great location near the sea, with fantastic beaches, countryside and places of interest all nearby. Elaine was always quick to reply in regards to booking and when we needed to contact her. Would definitely use again if we are in the area.

A home from home. Great location and 2 mins walk from the beach and 5 mins walk from the shop.
Spent Christmas at the Bolt in the Hole property because my daughter was working over Christmas at the local hospital. Just expected it to be a base but it was so much more. Joined the locals in the annual Boxing Day swim. Not the warmest water (absolutely freezing) but the friendliest people. Defrosted with a whiskey in the local afterwards. Daughter had one full day off during the week so drove the coast road to Lindisfarne. Beautiful drive with stunning views. Lindisfarne itself is amazing. GET THE TIDE TIMES BEFORE YOU GO. Took the A1 back and were in the door in 1 hour. Brilliant fish and chip shop within 2 min walk who also do Sunday Dinners. Roast beef, chicken all the veg, home made Yorkshires, £5 (take your own plate). Best thing for me was the walk to the church at the end of the beach and back. Did this walk several times a day and never tired of the changing tides. Fabulous beach further on than the church. Short drive to Cresswell where there is a 6 mile uninterupted stretch of sand. In December it was cold, wild but fantastic. Lasting memory is sitting up in bed with a cup of tea and the window ajar listening to the waves on the beach. Would I go again? YES!

fabulous Bolt hole, to get away from it all
the house was everything we were expecting and more. It was clean, and spacious. Our grandchildren loved the pirate theme bed room. We all loved the seaside mural on the wall in the back yard. i would certainly recommend staying there and you are only 5 minutes from the beautiful beach

Former miner's terraced house, near the sea and the town. Clean and comfortable.
There is another row of houses between the house and the sea, so no views but it is still a good place to stay, close to the seafront and the town. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Well situated to explore the Northumbria coastline. Elaine is friendly and helpful.

A great base for discovering Northumberland!
Ein perfektes Haus für eine Familie, um Northumberland und darüber hinaus (Edinburgh, Durham etc) zu entdecken. Das Haus war sehr sauber mit schöner geschmackvoller Einrichtung. Es gab absolut nichts, was gefehlt hätte. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit! ‐-------‐------------ A great place for a family to discover Notthumberland and beyond. The house was very clean with beautiful interior. Not a single thing was missing. We had a great time!

Neat, clean and great for exploring the area!
We enjoyed our stay, the accomodation was neat, clean and as displayed in the advert. The location was a bit different from what we had anticipated for eventhough the beach was nearby. The street in which the accomodation was situated was somewhat basic. The host, Elaine, was a real sweetheart and responded in a heartbeat to our questions and did everything to make out stay comfortable. We had a great stay, Newbiggin is very central to go and explore Northumberland. Deffinately a recommendation worthy.

Zweckmäßig
Perfekt geeignet für kurzen Zwischenstopp bei Rundreisen oder Wochenendtrip. Die Einrichtung ist einfach, aber geschmackvoll. Zwar kein Meerblick, da zweite Reihe, aber man hört das Meeresrauschen. Für den Notfall gibt es einen Imbiss in der Nähe, etwas bessere Pub/Restaurants sind mit einer kurzen Autofahrt erreichbar. Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin per E-Mail unkompliziert.

Wir haben hier zwei sehr entspannte Wochen genossen. Ein gemütliches, sehr gepflegtes kleines Haus.
Idealer Ausgangsort für Unternehmungen in Northumberland. Das Haus ist sauber und ordentlich, außerdem geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es hat alles was man für einen Urlaub braucht. Direkte Nähe zum Meer. Wir haben uns hier sehr gut entspannt.
