This BNB is beautiful with historic elements to check out. Easy in and out and near everything you might need without being too much in the middle of the lively action, allowing for rest for guests.
Mansion is impressive, impeccable and inviting. Location is close to the sites and restaurants. Antique furniture and full of history. Comfortable and quiet as well as a nostalgic feeling.

The home is a Historic Mansion/Colonial House. The accommodations were excellent. The hosts were warm, attentive, accommodating and friendly. If we weren't on a college tour trip we would have extended our stay. I would highly recommend it.
A beautiful and very impressive well-preserved mansion with antique furniture, and a great history. Our room was very nice and pleasant, and the bed was very comfortable. My wife and I had a great time. Thor and Nigel were very friendly and loved to play with us. The breakfast was great, Constance and her husband were very friendly and attentive to every detail. Great location, easy walk to restaurants and the park.
What a great time my wife and I had at Happy Place Bed and Breakfast. Everything was wonderfully in place. From the heavenly bed, to the plush towels, to the many amenities to many to mentioned and number (bath robes, various drinks, various lotions, shampoos, conditioners, oils, to your themed rooms, and Thor and Nigel. 😀
What a beautiful home this is. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor but the owner allowed us to have a look at all the other rooms which were beautiful. Our apartment was very spacious with all amenities for self catering including washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable and lounge area also good. Constance the owner was really nice and made a great breakfast for us. Definitely recommend this place to stay. A bus can be caught right across the road to take you down to the French Quarter it it’s a 20 minute stroll
Since I'm not form New Orleans, I don't actually know what a true New Orleans feel is. But this gorgeous mansion seems like the real deal. My room ("the Bayou Suite) was huge.
More important, the owners are good people you can trust. The breakfast coffee, eggs, bacon, and fruit are delicious and fresh.
The home is not in a tourist area, which is why I chose it. If you want tourist stuff like shopping, restaurants, and bars within walking distances, you migjt want to pay more and go elsewhere. As for me, I wanted to get a taste of local New Orleans, and I'd return to The Happy Place anytime.
Highly recommended for travellers looking for somethings special.
Nice house. Comfortable bed. No temperature control in the room made it a sweat box. Also, I love dogs but it would be nice to reveal there are dogs on site for people who may be allergic (The dogs were harmless and friendly though). Also should mention that other guest rooms are adjacent to yours. and the entrance to the bathroom for the secret garden is covered by a sheet to conceal you from the other guest area. There was a door with a slide latch but you need to be conscious that someone may see you getting up and going to the bathroom. The owners were very friendly and the house is very convenient to the French Quarter and major event venues. Recommended for more for individuals than for couples who prefer privacy.
The house was amazing. Constance and Bob were wonderful! An awesome place and not that far of a walk to the French Quarter. And bonus if you like to give belly rubs to her two Corgis.
I have stayed at several hotels in New Orleans and this was my first time trying a B&B. I have fallen in love with bed and breakfasts and will be sure to return to this property in the future. Constance is a great host and her house is an *amazing* place to stay!
Host was terrific. Property is very nice, and you’re a 10-minute ride from the French Quarter. There was an event going on when we arrived which made parking tight but we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
The hosts were amazing our entire trip! It’s walking distance from anywhere you would like to go, and the walk is full of beautiful houses. The inside of the home is absolutely beautiful, too!! We will definitely stay here again! The apartments on the ground floor are beautiful as well! Highly recommend!
I was there for jazz fest which was a muddy mess but my stay with Constance was great. I felt like I was visiting family. Thank you!

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Staff & service
We arrived at our scheduled time to check in, but it ended up taking 52 minutes of texting the owner back and forth before we were able to get into the B&B. Then we found the room we booked and prepaid for wasn’t cleaned, so we ended up in a different room. The building and our room were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The HVAC thermostat was in the upstairs foyer and controlled ALL of the rooms, so each resident was able to adjust it to their liking (whether you liked it or not). The breakfast was one piece of French toast and a piece of bacon. The few blocks around the B&B are sketchy at best, and will scare the hell out of many people. Gang graffiti, panhandlers, and just looked and felt downright dangerous. The noise from police sirens, ambulances, and thumping car stereos went on until past 2am. Maybe we just aren’t cut out for an overnight stay in New Orleans, or maybe this place is just in a sketchy part of town - who’s to say??
