North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here. This home is ideally located within close proximity to numerous New Orleans landmarks including Jackson Square (1.5 Miles), Caesars Superdome/Smoothie King Center (0.9 Miles), The National WWII Museum (2.8 Miles), and the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 (3.0 Miles). If you have any questions about the neighborhood, please send us a message!
You’ll have exclusive access to the entire first floor of the duplex, including: • Living room • Full kitchen • 3 bedrooms • 2 full bathrooms • Laundry area Please note: The upstairs unit is occupied by long-term residents, but your level is completely private.
Mid-City has a rhythm all its own - the rumble of the Canal Street streetcar, the scent of a corner po' boy shop, the easy energy of a neighborhood that hasn't forgotten how to be itself. This three-bedroom, first-floor unit in a classic New Orleans duplex drops you right into it, with everything you need to settle in, spread out, and actually enjoy the city between adventures.
The living space The living room is where the group lands at the end of the day - a bright, comfortable space anchored by a 45-inch HDTV with Netflix and access to your own streaming apps. A dedicated workspace sits in a room with a door, giving you a quiet corner if the trip calls for a few hours of focus. Fast Wi-Fi and an Ethernet connection keep everyone online. Central air conditioning and ceiling fans handle the New Orleans heat, and room-darkening shades make sleeping in after a late night in the Quarter an actual option.
Sleeping arrangements Three bedrooms sleep up to six guests across three beds. Bed linens, towels, and essentials are provided, along with hangers, clothing storage, and an iron - the details that make a longer stay feel easy. Long-term stays of 28 days or more are welcome.
Kitchen & dining The full kitchen is stocked for everything from a quick morning coffee to a proper sit-down meal. You'll find a refrigerator, freezer, electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker, along with cooking basics, dishes and silverware, wine glasses, and a baking sheet. Coffee is provided. Whether you're recreating a dish from last night's dinner out or cooking from scratch, the setup handles it.
Bathrooms Two full bathrooms mean mornings run smoothly. Both are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, a hair dryer, and cleaning products. One includes a bathtub - useful when the day calls for a proper soak rather than a quick rinse.
Extras that matter A washer and dryer in the unit take laundry off the to-do list. A patio or balcony gives you an outdoor spot to decompress. Self check-in via smart lock means arrival happens on your schedule. Free street parking is available, and the home is single-level with no interior stairs - easy access for everyone. Families traveling with little ones can request a pack 'n play and folding high chair, and babysitter recommendations are available if you want a proper night out. Exterior security cameras are present on the property. Cleaning is available during your stay.
The neighborhood Mid-City puts you 0.9 miles from the Superdome and Smoothie King Center - a straightforward trip for game days, concerts, and major events. The Canal Street streetcar stop is steps away, connecting you to the French Quarter, Downtown, and the City of the Dead cemeteries without needing a car. The Lafitte Greenway - a 2.6-mile trail running from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue - cuts through the neighborhood and links up with local cafés, a micro-brewery, and more than a few po' boy shops. Ruby Slipper Café is a short walk for a New Orleans brunch worth waking up for. Jackson Square sits 1.5 miles out, the National WWII Museum 2.8 miles, and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 about 3 miles away. During Mardi Gras, the home sits steps from the Endymion and Zulu parade routes.
Please note: No parties, no unregistered guests, and no smoking. Any attempt to host a party of any kind will result in immediate termination of the stay with no refund.

Location was amazing, property was clean and comfortable. Check in was weird, lots of hoops to jump through (I thought the point of Vrbo was to avoid that). WiFi info was totally wrong and didn’t work for the first day. We were woken up by loud parties 3 nights in a row from 1-4am. Bring earplugs in case.
Great location that was convenient to French Quarter and Garden District. House was clean and in great repair. The only negative was thay the upstairs neighbors were definitely early risers and a bit enthusiastic...but we knew it was a two level when we rented so no surprises there. Would definitely stay again - communication was amazing and the family loved it!
Clean, updated home was a perfect base for exploring NOLA. We stayed over New Year’s so there were NYE fireworks and noticeable sirens due to the nearby hospital. But quieter than previous hotel stays during this time! Street parking is easy and the road newly paved, though nearby streets were in disrepair. Grocery stores a short drive away. We walked to the French Quarter and Superdome with no issues.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
I loved how the host was on top of communication with my questions and concerns. I did not like the fact that someone lived upstairs and they came and knocked on the door because they said we were loud. We could hear them on our end as well but we never cared because once we got there, we understood someone lived there. We did not like parking on the street for it rained the whole weekend. I loved the fact that the house was clean and had everything we needed. I did not like how the day we were leaving to checkout, someone came and asked can they get the linens like 15 minutes before time. Everything was cool if you are used to that type of stuff but I’m not so I’ll just stick to hotels when traveling cause I love housekeeping with clean everything and plus no complaints from neighbors. Stuff happens so they shouldn’t have never knocked on the door. It made my boyfriend mad mad where he went to the door historical. The host was very tentative and I did like that. Thank you and this is not a bad review but I am just voicing my experience.
We appreciated the amenities, the close proximity to the trolley, and the brochures of NOLA attractions and restaurants. It was great that Michael responded so quickly to our questions.
Other than receiving the incorrect code for the door lock (called and got the correct code) everything was as advertised. The place was very clean and with in 3 block of the street car line.
Perfect Rental for safe, comfortable, clean Stay in NOLA
Four adults on first-time visit to wonderful historic New Orleans. Great location, easy access from I-10, super convenient access to RTA trolleys and bus. Quiet neighborhood, nice accommodations (Pro Tip: even though this is not a “party place” it needs a set of wine glasses.) ID verification/checkin process is a nightmare, worst we have ever had at any VRBO locations; otherwise would have rated this charming rental a 10/10 Five Star. Would definitely stay here again if we ever get opportunity to visit amazing NOLA again! Thanks!

Feels Like A Corporate Unit vs Home Away From Home
Admittedly I’m at the tail end of the baby boomer generation so we didn’t grow up with technology. It’s not my first rodeo using VRBO but there were technical difficulties making payment and submitting a background check form. When I asked the host for information about grocery stores in the area, I was sent a link with names of restaurants. It wasn’t what I asked for but I was able to find a WholeFoods on Google. I LOVED our location in the residential area of Treme because it was in walking distance to Congo Square, CBD and the street car to French Quarters. Having three bedrooms was perfect for us because we each had our own room. There were a few details like fridge water filter needed replacing, the towel rack in one of the bathrooms was dangling and a chair in one of the bedrooms was broken. The host sent someone right away but this should have been taken care before our arrival. I don’t know if the unit above us was a VRBO guest or a tenant renting. Saturday night he had a party and was playing music loudly. There is no insulation so we could hear everything. Again I reached out to the host and surprisingly I received a call, not a link, reassuring me it would not happen again. One of our travelers went home on Monday and two of us had reservations in a shotgun home (Garden District) I asked the our host if we could leave our luggage until 3pm. I was sent link on where I could store our luggage. Frustrating! The host at the shotgun house said no problem.
Very nice and clean home. All attractions were a short distance away making entertainment very convenient. Quiet neighborhood. Overall great stay would definitely book again.
Nicely decorated large space, in a neighborhood about a mile from various iconic locations in New Orleans. Excellent air conditioning, comfortable beds, and overall my friends and I had a wonderful time in the space and in and around the city.
This property was perfect for our family of 4 (which includes two teenage daughters) on our non-traditional Christmas vacation. Location was close to the Street Cars or an Uber had in the French Quarter in less than 10 mins. The pictures and description of the property were accurate and everything was exactly as we expected. So much to do and see, we will definitely be back.
Internet wasn’t working properly when I arrived. Was fixed within a hour. Not told till after I have arrived , that there was street construction on going in front of house. Parking was available on opposite side of street. Not in front which disappointed me. The home was beautiful inside. Bright and clean. The sink drain in the master bathroom needed to be clean out for proper drainage. That also was repaired within a hour after notifying home owner. The home owner was very accommodating and quick responding to my request. The repair items were minor, but it was items that I should not have had to report. The repairs were done on my time and I think should have been checked prior to rental. House keeping certainly would have notice the clogged bathroom drain. I would love to stay at this rental again, next time I am in the area. I payed rental for a week and only stayed 2 days, because my plans had change, not because of the house. Looking forward to next time.
This ended up being an even more perfect choice than I initially thought! We booked the house several weeks before our trip, but then I broke my ankle rather badly and was worried about mobility. This house, in addition to being immaculately clean and just gorgeously appointed, was also about as handicap friendly as possible! And it was so close to the French Quarter I could make it on my knee scooter! 10/10 highly recommend!
